Got mine in today, and it's pretty sweet!

The best part is, that weird wire thing? Totally optional. Honestly I have no idea how it is supposed to actually attach to the base anyway.

Pros - Lights up like crazy. Not just 9 or 10 LEDS but at least 30 of em. BRIGHT as hell.
Metal pieces (even the inside section that looks like a speaker)
Modular, and mostly metal.
Real copper wire!
The lettering is etched in, as well as painted, so the effect is really cool.

Cons -
My cover came in broke, so that sucked :angry
The base looks kinda cheesy. It's spray painted wood, and it's not very well painted.
Little to no instruction on how to assemble, which led to an annoying section where I had to redo some screws because the post was facing the wrong way.

All in all, I have to say, for the 120$ it cost me, it's an excellent prop. I would rate it 5/5 if the case didn't come in with a crack on the side.

Right now it's 3/5, pending how the crack issue is handled by the company I bought it from, but still, it's an awesome piece.

Damned fingerprint magnet too on the shiny metal, so make sure to wipe it clean before you pop that case top on there!

Thanks for the review!

I initially wondered if it could be modded for use in a costume but it looks way too deep for that.

Actually you probably could. The depth is just the AA battery casing. Not too hard to connect some leads to it and run it to the battery casing hidden somewhere else on your body.

I'd try it if I had a spare. I got mine yesterday and like it in the display case.

Got mine in last week as well. :thumbsup

Not sure how screen acurate it is, but for the price I think its very cool. :cool

Definitely not accurate at all, but it does look way better than the promo pics available before release. And for $120, I'd say it's good enough.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
If you invite 100 people you know, friends, co-workers and family (NOT prop enthusiasts) and you have this sitting on your mantle, IF they recognize it, not one person will say to you, "Heeeeeyyyyy...that's not 100% accurate!"
That's the 120.00 piece.
Now spend upwards of 400.00 so that it will be 100% accurate.
Is anyone going to be more impressed with the higher dollar piece?
Oh, that's right. You'll want to use the "Yeah, but I'll know" card. Sure. If it's worth an extra 300.00 (or more) to you. :lol

That is a nice and afordable prop. Would be nice to integrate with a suit since it is running on bateries. :D

I got mine last week. As far as depth goes, the LED housing is the thickest piece of metal. If you unscrew it all you can get the reactor as thin as 20mm. You could then etch yourself a PCB, fit SMD LED's and cut to shape.

It's actually my sons so gonna have to wait to they come down in price beforei can make the mod
