Hey guys :) I might collect a few items from Indiana Jones, not planning to make a huge collection of it, but I was wondering, what would be worth collecting from the movies? I have a little list in mind and I was wondering, if you had any idea of where to find the best and the most accurate item from this list! Thanks :p

Soooo I thought about getting the following:

Indy's Fedora
Whip
Diary
pocket knife
gun

Headpiece of the staff of Ra
FertilityIdol

Lao Che's diamond and coins
Lao Che antidote
Sankara Stones with manuscript
Voodoo doll and zalim's pin
Chalice of Kali

The cross of coronado
Holy Grail
Grail knight painting

AND MAYBE, the crystal skull and the Fransisco de Orellana mask

The list looks to be fairly long, but I don't think I'll start collecting these items just now :p
But I would like to know the source for them, and which of them you'd consider to be worth collecting ^^

Thanks :)

Crystal skull?
Play that by ear. Markpoon was working on one, as well as someone else... But delays and roadblocks keep slowing progress down. Indiana Andrews (sp?) did one you might find on secondary market.

Indy's Fedora
Todd's Downtowner (cheap and affordable)
There are way more accurate ones but they will cost you hundreds

Whip
Indy Magnoli (affordable)

Diary
Numerous good ones. I'm sure people will point you in good direction here
Prop movie studios "Sarednab" makes a good one as does Kalkamel.

pocket knife
Not sure

Gun
Rook 3. He sellers them in the JY

Headpiece of the staff of Ra
RELICMAKER

FertilityIdol
Handshuab bronze idol or SSskunky (but he stopped making them) or OZ

Lao Che's diamond, coins
Lao Che antidote
Markpoon

Sankara Stones
Landron Artifacts

manuscript
Easy to paint yourself

Voodoo doll and zalim's pin
RELICMAKER

Chalice of Kali
not sure

The cross of coronado
Markpoon, RELICMAKER, Sarednab

Holy Grail
restaurajones (sp?)...most expensive. Indy Magnoli, Luke0312 or KT Templar

Grail knight painting
Prop Movie Studios "Peter74" I think is his name or Luke0312

Thanks! That's awesome! Yeah I have seen the items from PMS, they look to be all good to be honest! Wish I had the $ for his replicas!

I check Todd's Downtowner website, and I like the whip too, looks good xD

Todd's Costume hat is a good hat for the price, but I would take Indy Magnoli's $80 budget whip over the Todd's ANYDAY. Plus you would be supporting one of our members ;)

Is noble collection his website? Because I can't find anything related to indiana jones x)

The pocket knife in Raiders is a Linder Hunter. A UK site selling it (and where I got mine): Folding Knives: Linder Knives Hunter --- Heinnie Haynes - Knives, Pocket Tools and Accessories

I have one Oz's idols and it's an incredible sculpt. Mine is still sitting as raw resin (I'm slowly sanding it) and it will get electronic eyes when I get round to it :D

Thanks! It's always a wee bit better to get something from the UK, as I'm living here, well, at least the knife will be sorted out hehe :p

I have seen pictures of the fertility idol from Oz, it does look good, is he a member from the RPF? XD

One of the best on the RPF. :)

Hey guys :) I might collect a few items from Indiana Jones, not planning to make a huge collection of it

This is a pretty much what I said before spending a ****** load of money on my Indiana Jones collection. Lucky me I wasn't quite the bttf addict you seem to be when I started my Indiana Jones collection. But lets face it, collecting Indiana Jones stuff really is a hobby that requires a strong sense of focus, money wise at least.

As for the items you want to get, here are my modest advices.

Indy's Fedora:
Penman Hats. They make what is without a single doubt the best Indy hats out there. They are quite pricey and the order process takes a long time but you will also have the chance to get a custom made fedora by one of the best hatter out there. And seriously if you need to put some money in just one prop it must be the Fedora. I mean is there anything else Indy related that is more iconic than this hat ?

Whip:
If you are on a budget, Magnoli offer the best compromise. His whips are awesome, very well crafted and well let's say close enough to the real deal. I don't think they are meant to be used too often but as a display piece it looks ace.

Diary:
There are not many options out there if you want to spend less than $300. I only have Sarednab's hero version which I am perfectly happy with (after a few alterations) so I can't really compare with others.

pocket knife:
I don't know about this one. But I'm interested in anyone as a suggestion.

gun:
I think there is an ongoing run of these on these boards. However you might face some troubles if you want to import a gun replica in the UK or you would have to compromise on accuracy and have the barrel painted in a vivid color.

Headpiece of the staff of Ra:
Go with RelicMaker's "Raven Bar" version. I personally fancy his "Imam" version better (probably because it is cast from an original headpiece) but they are not available anymore and the "Raven Bar" version is widely considered as the "hero" prop since it's the one used in the map room anyways.

Fertility Idol:
If you can get your hands either on a hata or a "hero" idol from sskunky you'll get some of the best idols ever produced (and with lineage to a screen used idol too).
I think that Sarednab has something quite impressive in the works though based on a Gobler idol (so you get something with lineage to a screen used idol as well).

Lao Che's diamond and coins:
I think Magnoli offers the portuguese coins on his website (or last time I checked he did). As for the diamond markpoon's version is sold out so maybe you can find someone to provide some measurements and get a crystal cut yourself or wait for one to pop on the secondary market (which happens from time to time).

Lao Che antidote:
Not a lot of options out there. Maybe you can try and pm Wolfie who offered them here awhile back. They are not 100% accurate but they are affordable and definitely look the part.

Sankara Stones:
Landron Artifacts for the static version. I think that Azuma is still taking people on a wait list over at COW for his 2014 run of translucent stones that actually light up.

Sanskrit manuscript:
Jedi-spirit offers a great and affordable version of these on ebay.

Voodoo doll:
I'll go with markpoon's torso as there isn't a lot of other options out there and finish the doll myself (if I had the required skills)

zalim's pin:
RelicMaker again makes the best pin. I don't know if he still offers them but you should definitely pm him.

Chalice of Kali:
As far as I know Sideshow's version seems to be fairly accurate and still widely available.

The cross of coronado:
This one is a tough one.
Sarednab has an amazing cross in the works, extremely accurate with an impressive attention to details.
However, based on pictures only, I think I still like RelicMaker's cross better. Sarednab made the cross that is possibly the closest you can think of of one of the screen used crosses but I think it looks too much like a prop in the end and less like an actual artefact. Once again it's something I get only from the pictures but RelicMaker's cross looks more like the way I always envisionned the cross. But it's only a matter of opinion since both are amazingly talented artists and offer some of the best Indy replicas ever made.

Holy Grail:
This one is quite easy, go with Restaurajones'. He makes the best grails, hands down.

Grail knight painting:
I don't own one but I think Peter74's version is one of the best ever made.

AND MAYBE, the crystal skull and the Fransisco de Orellana mask:
Who in their right minds would consider collecting anything related to "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of that god awful unnecessary fourth movie that almost ruined one of my childhood heroes" ?:p

If you want to see some pictures of some of these items, you can take a look to my collection by following the url in my signature. ;)
Good luck in your quest and try to enjoy it. Looking for the items is like half of the fun.

Check chicago hats plus, or akubra for an indy hat, i dont have the indy fedora but do have two akubras and they are probably the best hats for the money if you wanted to wear it, you could wear it all day and get it soaking wet and it wont hurt it

If you (or others) are working with a limited/optimized budget, I would advise looking at the AcmeArtifacts/ReplicaProps Headpiece, the BluFive Idol, and markpoon's Indy items.

While some aren't considered completely accurate, each is still nice and will save you hundreds of dollars to use on other items.

Something I would add that you didn't mention is a MK VII satchel. You can get an authentic from What Price Glory or a repop from Magnoli or Todds.

There are also lots of paper props you can make up yourself.

I made an Abner journal a little while back (and a cover for my kindle in the same style) and that didn't cost much in the way of money, a lot of time though.

I'm just about finished with a Raiders sandbag, which I picked up from here https://sites.google.com/site/makeitjones/home/sandbags and have been making it look well used. I'll post a build thread when I'm done (hopefully tonight).

The bag is a good catch by Luke0312. Remember that the different films all had slightly different bags. I chose Raiders for mine, because it's my favourite of the three :)lol) films.

There's also the jacket. Wested in the UK have them up on their site, lots of other places like Magnoli have it too of course. The jacket varies slightly between films too I think.

Being in the UK you will struggle the guns, they're quite unique pieces. Our silly laws say that a replica needs to be more than half coloured a bright colour, the other alternative is a deactivated real firearm and they're rather pricey. There's always just having an empty holster.

A good site for info on gear and props and home of COW: www.indygear.com

I considered getting some extra stuff from the main outfit... But I'm not sure, as I said it, I really want to focus on the main "objects". Except for the Fedora because it's definitely an emblematic item, but thanks :p I guess it will all depend on my savings xD

Thanks for this info :p! And yeah, I am comprehanding a lot before to actually start this collection. But I helped Sarednab for his website, and damn, I just had an illumination. I was like "I WANT THIS" haha! But yeah I love the "trilogy", as you insinuated that the 4th movie does not really count, does it? Hehe, that's why I said MAYBE XD

Thanks for this! And yeah, it is really annoying to import guns or swords from overseas... This is so ridiculous though, especially when they are props or decoration items xD

And thank you everyone for your help! Much appreciated. Now I need to make plans on what to get first and what to get last, and when to start haha (I have a few items I need to finish paying for BTTF and Toy Story xD)
