Indiana Jones Passport

This thread is to cover my indiana jones passport project.

whilst I am gathering stamp reference images and passport reference here is where I am so far.

the passport will run from 1935 to 1941.
US passports at this time were issued for two years with two year extensions. unless someone can tell me otherwise, I don't consider a second two year extension impossible.

starting in 1935 gets us from Temple of Doom to 1941 and Indiana Jones and the Golden Fleece. (from the dark horse comic)

if a second extension was impossible then 1935 to 1939 is time frame that gets us from Temple of Doom to Fate of Atlantis and (maybe) Thunder in the Orient.

right now, I'm looking at the timelines out there and a few things become very clear. they're all over the place, need trimming down and I have to get selective on stuff. for example, one timeline has indy do about 12 different adventures in 1936, after Raiders

no way. as much as indy is an archaelogist he is also an academic with a teaching post, so although he would get 'some' sabbaticals, he also h as to restrict some of his adventures to school holiday periods.

also, the raiders net and another one both put Fate of Atlantis AFTER Thunder in the Orient. Clearly they've never read either tome as it is quite clear that they are the other way round due to the way Sophia Hapgood and Indy interact with one another.

so once that correction is taken care of, here is how I see things for now

1935 emperors tomb (when?)
1935 temple of doom (I'm not clear on when that year this happens)
1936 south america for the idol
1936 Raiders
1936 late - indy recovers chachapoyan idol from marrakesh
-
1937 passport renewal
-
1937 india in July/August recovering a statue (beginning of arms of gold)
1937 september Arms of Gold begins - whole adventure takes about 3 weeks)
1938 Last Crusade (when?)
1939 fate of atlantis
-
renewal
-
1939 thunder in the orient
1941 golden fleece

there's a lot of work there. I have to go through each adventure figuring out what countries he would pass through and therefore need stamps for. what countries he leaves without an exit stamp. dates and times (most of which are missing so I have to factor in journey times etc)

then I need to design some stamps for this lot.

so not a quick project if I'm going to do it right. I could cheat and do it purely all vector art, but I'd like to make the stamps for real and use an ink stamp pad for the right look.

so there we are. lots yet to do . if anyone wants to chip in with comments, pictures of stamps, or timeline info of your own, feel free.

more to come.

Not an easy project for sure. I applaud you for undertaking this project.:thumbsup I can't wait to see what you come up with as well:love

This sounds like a great project. I'm currently doing the same with a James Bond passport so I know what you're going through. Good Luck!

I was creating a Indiana Jones Passport myself about 3 month ago and I wanted to share some pics of MY version of the indiana jones passport, any critique and comments are more than welcome.

just some details:

I used the timeline I found on theraiders.net and I took care on many details while making the passport. Its made after the look and feel of an
original us passport I bought on ebay. the red outside is made from special paper I get from a bookbinder. the golden us seal on front is not only printed, its stamped with golden and reflecting color.

the red seal on the inside of page 2 is not (only) printed, its a paper seal impressed on the paper with the silhouette of the departments of state and the eagle sign. Its normally a bit more detailed, but need a better tool for that.the paper seal is additionally on the "renewal page" of the passport the pages are not glued, they are handstitched in the middle of the passport.

here are some examples of stamps and so on, I used:

this is an example of an possible passport photo, but have 3 other possible pictures I can use. this one I did close to the one that is used in my original passport.

I made this passport totally from scratch, looked hard for the needed fonts and all ressources on the net and put this passport together with much love and blood.
the original pass is binded too. I orientated myself very close by the original passport. The passport has 32 pages as the original one and has the same exact size as the original passport. I tried to make an authentic as possible passport.

the stamps are all done after the timeline from raiders.net and are build on real stamps, so they are not pictured at will, they are pictured with the timeline in background

well, he is a professor....hehe.
the picture is a tribute to the fact, that it is a official document, but I made this passport with different pictures already for other people.
for example:
