Well I hope someone does not get the PM box full, but something this cool has to be shown!!!

On Friday I received a pack from Mark, something I have been waiting for quite a while.
I was very surprised at the label, (which is awesome btw) and the fact that he glued it probably knowing I would want to keep it.LOl
Mark was very kind to paint my idol.
For those who dont know, Mark was the only person ever to paint the idol in the way the original has deteriorated and found in the Prop store of London, i believe.
He has pioneered with his own design and basically produced a very unique paintjob .
For me the gold idol is great and would of eventually got one but having another of Mark's artworks is very flattering and more desirable.
The idol has green patina and gold worn patches, an overall mist of gold dust covers the idol , eyes as you can see are very hard to tell that they are painted, one would say that they are replica purchased eyes. Cracks are handmade grooves and in bottom of the idol , his signature.
I was very lucky that Mark did this, I am unsure if he will do anymore of these , but if you are able , save your pennies, as this is one prop that is truly original and a must have.
You will also be dealing with someone with great integrity, and great talent.
Please enjoy the pics of one of my favourite prop from my favourite artist.

Congrats Marcel your idol is stunning.
Huge praise to Mark for his awesome work. I love this piece. I have a Gobler idol and whilst it is superb, it is almost too new and shiny. So much so that I have weather and aged mine, I know a cardinal sin amongst collectors, but it just didn't look right to me.
This is what makes this piece so special. I will contact Mark at some point for one of these, hopefully he will be able to fit me in.
Oh and great base too, where did you acquire it?

Time and time again I keep on going back to Mark's thread on COW about his Idol. I absolutely love what he did with his, and now yours!!! One day I would love to have an idol like this in my collection... :love

Thanks for sharing your pics with us!!!

Excellent craftsmanship on this idol. I love the look.

Especially love the packaging. Can you imagine getting this in the mail or the postal workers wondering what is inside.

Best,

Outstanding Idol, great craftsmanship and awesome presentation!
How cool's that? Simply stunning... :love

It be belongs in a museum ;)

Congrats Marcel

Great job, Mark and congrats Marcel on having it! Do you know what the original lineage/maker is of the Idol itself?

FANTASTIC WORK. Nice job, Mark. This is my favorite way to see the idol. Ever since I saw yours that you did (last year was it?) it's been a favorite. I know you are enjoying this baby Marsattack!

LOL… Cheers Mars. Great pictures and my apologies about the glue on the label - what was I thinking!??

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone. Regrettably, this is not something I'm able to offer generally. Mars pulled a gun and that, plus the huge bag of gold he presented convinced me that it was in my best interests to do one for him.

Kind regards

MARK
