Hey gang,

I just finished this holster last night for my son’s Indy costume for DragonCon and I would really appreciate some feedback on it.

I started by making a pattern from an original Welby holster and then scaled that down to a more kid friendly size. The leather is 6/7 oz. and was dyed black.

Thanks guys for the compliments!

I’m almost finished with the full size version. It only needs the button on top of the flap and this one will be done!

Nice job on the kid sized holster. Also nice vintage holster. Looks just like mine. It's the same color as the screen used piece.

Thanks yodakiller1138!

I bought the vintage holster last year on ebay for only $25 and it has taken this long to convince myself to cut it open and make a pattern. I’m not sure I would have done it without my son asking for a new Indy holster. After seeing him run around the house in his Indy gear fighting off imaginary Thuggee guards it was definitely worth it.

Here is a photo of the vintage holster with the full sized holster I made this morning.

Please tell me You didn't take the stitching out of the vintage holster.:confused:eek At $25 you got a steal but vintage Webley holsters in good shape are worth considerably more to collectors. Mine was made in 1917 and is in fantastic shape seeing it's 90+ years old. Looks spot on to the screen used holster in TOD.

yodakiller1138,

That is why it took so long for me to do it:cry

The good news is that I can fix it and now I have a great pattern for the Temple of Doom holster.

I just finished this one!! What do you guys think?
