So this is my first pred costume, i've always been a huge fan of predators, or Yautja if you prefer, after reading AVP prey i couldn't help myself from building my own suit. So here it is at the start, mask is being painted with latex, the armor is made from foamies, i might spray it with some clear plastidip if i can find any, just to harden it a bit. The rest of the armor needs to be made, i have a loin guard but i think im going to redo it as i think it sucks, the cloth im using is going to be super long and shredded at the bottom. I'll be making every thing from scratch, am currently doing the mask and dreads mostly, but i cant get my plaster mold to work right, its always sticking to my prop dread and then i have to break it to get it out, i've coated it in silicone lubricant, vaseline, and out of desperation i tried some Crisco, it failed. So any help there would be appreciated. Im going to make full mail boots simply because i think it'll look cool with my personal pred, and i would also like the boots to be able to take a **** load of damage. Im not sure how im gonna do the hands yet, i think ill probably do an alginate mold of my hand and cast some latex skins then hook fake acrylic claws to them and add detail where i need it wth some more latex. Tell me what ya think so far.

Foam head being coated in rubber latex tinted lightly with grey acrylic.

K, so i've been workin on the head and i have the primary crown coated in latex and most of the left side. I aslo added some marking which will be covered in a thin layer of latex to make it blend better.

I think you should cover the whole thing in a thin sheet of foam. It will hide most of the "cracks" where one foam block is glued to another.

Great start!

thats a good idea, but if i did it now id lose all of the latex work i've done, so i think im going to try and fill the cracks and stuff with latex and if that fails ill try the thin foam, thanks for the help.
