Identify! Exige gets a 2' Identity Disc.

Nice Lotus.
My buddy Mike worked on this Lotus down here in SoCal.
Maybe you've seen it?

The World's Fastest Lotus? - YouTube

I haven't spoken to him in years, just fell out of touch with him.

its an exige and has orange, so its a winner in my book!

I'll check out the youtube video when i get home (blocked at work). I'm posting a Cars & Coffee event, would you pass it on to him? It would be great to meet up and see this baby in person.

^ That's Frank's car. It's fast... but not terribly reliable :lol I think he's rebuilt the current drivetrain (not counting his last 2 setups before) at least 3x when I was still active on LotusTalk.

He's offered to let me drive it a while back but I never took him up on his offer, something about having 500+whp on a 2000 lb car just doesn't sit well with me ;)

he doesn't own it, he just worked on it to make it faster.
I think it had over 700HP, but I don't remember

Yeah he got it up over the 600whp mark last I checked, probably broke the 700 mark by now. It's a dual-charged setup, SC and turbo, running on massive boost... hence the rebuilds ;)

I'm not that close to him otherwise I'd send him an invite to C&C, plus I don't think he goes there much if at all, least I never saw him there.

Ok I'll stop being OT now.

Thanks G-Man!

Update overdue:
This is split into two sections. Basically 80% of the disc which will house the lights, and then the last 20% will just be a faceplate to complete the disc.

okay, so the disc isnt ready for paint, but i primed and painted it anyway just to get an idea of what it looks like before i get too much further. Mind you the orange i used is just some really old leftover paint i bought a couple years ago and should be replaced with lights for the event. the edge of the disc hasnt been sealed, so i didnt paint it. although i think this is better because it needs white lights added anyway. I photographed the disc on both my car and my buddies DeLorean.

Since the DeLorean is an older car, we felt that utilizing the original Tron disc would be most appropriate. Feedback...

Thanks faille. Are you a Tron fan too?

Yes, huge fan! In fact, what got me back into the RPF forums was one of the Tron costuming threads with over a hundred pages of suits and experiments with the lighting. Tried to name my dog Flynn but I was overruled :)
