Ideal size and weight for spidey costume?

I need opinions to see if a Spidey suit be suitable for me? I'm 5.7 I varie between 160-165 lbs,
42" chest, I take 34 size pants, shoulder to shoulder accross 20" I have small thighs 23" widest point, biceps 13", thighs are my main concern, they need some bulk on the back, side view they are skinny on the back making my bum stick out, trying to figure out if I need a muscle suit in areas, I can easily gain some chest and biceps volume within a month of training.

Now since it's lycra (4 way stretch material) would you suggest I remove 1" from every measurement for a better molding body fit?

You'll be totally fine. Looking at the measurements you gave - a 42" chest and a 33" waist are quite proportional and would look good under the costume.

Marvel officially classifies Spider-Man as 5'10" and about 165 pounds. You are not that far off.

5'10" is a perfect height for most costumes, especialy being a super hero it's nice to be more imposing in public.

That's kinda different though, b/c that's comic book universe. Real World Spidey would weigh about 190 and look like GSP. Not huge, but defined enough that you can tell he's built under that spandex.

Well he originally was supposed to be a high school science geek (when he first appeared in the comics), so I wouldn't picture a young teenager like a ripped 190 MMA fighter. ;)

Hey man, I'm 5'7 @ 145 lbs. I've got about the same measurements as you but the only difference is our waste measurement. (29-30)

Most of the Dye-Sub suits will fit a person of (our) stature but ideally you'll want to try and work your measurement down. Personally, I feel like that's the area of greatest discrimination for web-slingers. More than that though, If you get a suit that's got urethane or latex webbing, for instance... you'll have a higher chance of popping webs in those areas because of stretching.
I realize that may be a tall order, but for spidey you want to be slim in the waste.

*edit*
Running would help you with your waste measurement AND your thigh measurement ...
But for the record, you're not far off for spidey. You could do it now, alittle work would idealize it though... Just saying ;)

Ya know I've often felt I'm too small for Spidey (5'7 and weigh 130) and he's portrayed as being large in the movies.

There is no perfection though

I see what you mean but I'm lean I have no belly, I'm very active I play hockey 4 times a week, I trained regularly my upper body is in good shape, If anything I want to gain muscle mass not loose which I could easily do by halloween.

I don't really trust the "official" stats of Marvel anyway. It depends on the artist. You can't have him as a thin frame in highschool and then the next panel have him gain 60 pounds when he puts on the suit.

The video below is probably closer to the Ultimate Spider-man build, though.
my buddy makes an awesome spiderman
He's 5'6 and weighs like 130, super lean guy and acrobatic

perfect spiderman

And to the OP, I think you'll be fine. You're a little bigger than me, muscle wise (I'm 5'9.5", 40" chest, 14" bicep, 23" thigh, 32" pants) and ~170pounds. I thought I was too fat and even joked about it when I posted my pics, but everyone seemed to disagree greatly with that.

Don't worry about the thighs. Large thighs will make your ass look ginormous in the suit :lol

What's wrong with that? :lol (Nothing.... the ladies say)

I dont think it has to do with only with correct weight. I think it has to do with bodytype proportions. To skinny needs muscle suit, to chubby, dont wear it. To long consider another costume, to short consider another charracter. Improvise and addapt to the best ideal costume of your own bodytype proportion.
