ICONS T2 skull new base and display.

I bought this a few months ago off of EBay for $500. Which I thought was a pretty good deal as it had the plaque and the COA. I had always wanted one and there are thousands of illegal Chinese Copies of Sideshow releases all over EBay if that is what you want but that is not what I wanted. I also did not want to pay the Sideshow current prices either. I paid the seller an extra $50 beyond the shipping up charge and asked him to separate the head and ship the base and display. Did he ? NO. The base broke and the head separated from the display and beat the acrylic display to pieces and it all showed up in a Home Depot box you would put your towels or sheets in when you moved. The seller apologized and refunded $200 for a replacement case. Luckily the head survived. If you have ever owned one of these the original acrylic case from ICONS was incredibly oversized, like it was made really for something else. The head just had 2 screws in the bottom that secured it to a black base of acrylic. Also the head is incredibly front heavy and not very stable. So I gave my acrylic guy a few challenges. Make the display significantly smaller, Stabilize the head which he did with a stabilizing disc that sits on top of the base which is now simply a very solid lipped black painted MDF base. He did a great job just sharing for those who are looking for OTHER ideas

Love the icons skull. Just looks mean. Nice case you've sorted for it too. I agree the original case is way too big. Looks fantastic man. ;)

Looks great! So annoying that the seller ignored your request.

Hi Matt!! Yep He was brand new to Ebay. I was just happy the skull was not damaged and at least he settled up on the damages. However Right? I even paid him extra and told him this would happen if he shipped it together as displayed. Truth be told I am very happy with this replacement case. The Original was comically oversized and not supportive of the props weight.

Thanks Ben! I always thought ICONS went with whatever was available off the shelf vs. crafting a case simply made for the head. He does look sinister and I am looking forward to seeing the latest release this weekend.

New release seen. I could not give it more than 3 stars as basically it was a redux of Terminator 2. I liked seeing Arnold and Linda again but well I will I just leave at that to make your own judgement.

I purchased an ICONS Luke lightsaber from Prop Store in London and it arrived with broken strut support on the base. They packed the saber inside the case and not separate. They have apologized and said that that was the wrong way to do it and we're working on compensation, but in the meantime I want it fixed. Any suggestions?

If you do it carefully something like superglue, or some other type of cement, should work.

The adhesive you want to use on the acrylic is Weld-On 3. It is a solvent glue, so you want to be careful where you put it.

Superglue can fog acrylic and make it brittle, so I wouldn't recommend that.

I have contacted Kyle at Plastic Depot in Burbank. This is the company that made the stands for ICONS. He said..

This can be glued back together using SC-100 acrylic glue/solvent, or Weldon #3, or #4 . We actually made these many years ago. I do not have any detailed info on them anymore. If you decide you want a new one, you could send us the broken one you have and we can use it for the details to make a new one. I'm thinking this would run around $50.00 plus tax and shipping. Kyle

I was concerned that the value of the piece would be affected. I managed to balance the saber in the broken piece in the meantime.
