I got my SDC NEM uniform

Please disregard my scruffy oily image, It was late last night when I took the pics and hade been wearing a ball cap all day; and I haven’t trimmed the wiskers in about a week… :lol

I like it. The fit is pretty good, the fabrics are nice, the accuracy is not way off (as far as I can tell) and I am quite pleased with the quality of the workmanship.

The pips I am wearing in these pics are not SDC, I bought them on ASAP. The rank pin is SDC and is held on by Velcro.

HISTORY
Before anyone asks about my dealings with SDC, just let me say I purchased this many years ago and just got it after a long and pleasant correspondence with SDC. That’s all I’ll say about that. It has been a while since I paid for this and we are now trying very hard as a family to get out of debt, so all my toys are being sold off (with exception to my R2 and Defiant captain’s chair project) and I am thinking this uniform will have to go too. After years of waiting it does not hold as dear a place in my heart as debt freedom does, so we’ll see.

The material and construction look good. Maybe it's just the photo, but the color looks more canary yellow than gold? I hope not.

Thanks all. The bright yellow in the photos is due to poor night time lighting and a bright flash; the color is a more subdued gold/yellow. I plan on taking natural light photos soon with a less scruffy Andy wearing it.

SDC = Shadow Dale Creations. ASAP is a SciFi/misc prop board.

He is lucky indeed, and no, Shadowdale used regular jacket type thick zippers. All the actual uniforms from the Trek productions used the hidden style zipeprs and two hook / eye combos at the top of the zipper to keep it closed.

The gold they used (as with 90% of the colors they use) is wrong. The actual color was a mustard, and even in artificial light looked mustardy..

Overall it is not a bad repro, and the shirt and sleeve color strips could be removed and redyed a more accurate color.
