How to sew spandex?

I have a full body spandex suit. I am trying to cut out eyes for the mask and seem them back together so I can wear goggles underneath. If anyone has done this or has some pointers please advise. Thank you all for taking the time to help. Have a great day!

you dont need a serger....if you have a regular sewing machine its probably best to have a walking foot attachment for it. It pulls the fabric from the top and the bottom so they fabric doesnt bunch up or stretch while you're sewing it
