how do your kids react to the masks?

hi guys bit of an odd question but i'm going to LFCC later this year by that time my daughter will be 4 months and I'm worried that my mask will scare her its just a normal spidy mask but obviously she won't see my face and i'm worried it will frighten her.
how have you experiences been having your kids see you in costume do they recognize your voice? or do you go without the mask?

My 1 year old daughter loves my V for vendetta mask and my spiderman mask she never seems phased by it at all.

It depends on the Mask.
I have a 7 years old Son, he was a bit scared by an Army of Two and a Gasmask i made.
He absolutly loved a Dr.Doom Mask i made (i had to build him a second one) and liked the Latex Alien Mask i made.

Good plan, but do be a bit careful as you're doing that. Remember, kids don't start to develop any proper sense of object permanence until they're about four months old, so putting on the mask might be like peek-a-boo; as far as the kid's concerned, you're gone.

I wore my Master chief suit at a party I held once and the kids were fine with it mostly. One of the boys took some convincing by taking my helmet off and letting him wear it but after that he loved it. The only.....bad thing we experienced was.......as I walked out of my house a 6-8 year old girl stopped at my feet, slowly looked all the way up at me, then ran off arms flailing screaming "I don't like it I don't like it!" Lol. But on a good note my 1 year old loves all the helmets I have made. I have worn them for him since he was born. Best thing is to get them used to it. If they cry the first time you know not to wear it again with them or find a way to make it easy for them to deal with like I did with the boy.

My 4 year old was scared of my mask until I let her put it on and play around for a while. Almost didn't get it back from her!

I showed up as Spider-Man for my nephew's third birthday. He seemed excited at first, ran up to me and gave me a hug and a high five. Then he suddenly got shy and stayed away and would only look at Spider-Man from across the room.

Later when I returned as myself, he ran up and told me all about it, still excited and later asked where Spider-Man was. So it's kind of unpredictable. If you don't want to break the illusion of them not knowing it's you, sometimes it can be tough if they get a little scared because you don't want to take off your mask.

My daughter is 5 yo and is totally afraid of everything with V for Vendetta mask on it - books, DVDs, drawings, even the cute tiny 4'' mask that came with the special edition DVDs. Maybe she will feel better about it once I have a real-size (Ruby) mask for her to play around with, but no amount of explaining has helped so far

just wait til your kid does something awesome like when my 5 year old asked to be Deadpool for Halloween...so proud...
