Just wondered what was known about any hidden extras built onto ships/buildings from the movies we know and love and who has any pics....the ones i know of are R2-D2,shark and school bus on the mothership from close encounters, Millenium Falcon as a building in Blade Runner and Poster on the bridge of the Blockade Runner....any more??

My studio scale Millennium Falcon has the square plastic top of a McDonald's coffee stirrer as a greebly somewhere on the side. (the M is clearly visible)

I used to have a copy of the 'Goonies' issue of Cinefex. On board the model One Eyed Willie's ship, you can clearly see R2-D2 standing next to the mainmast.

The fantail of the 6' Enterprise D model integrated the word 'ugly' amongst the panels. This 'feature' was not replicated on the 4' model and was likely erradicated when the 6' was made over for "Generations."

Since the 6' model was only used for the first 2 1/2 seasons, I doubt there is a shot of it.

Ironically, the drawings that were included in the instructions of the ERTL model kit did replicate the letter 'G' from the word 'ugly'. So I guessed they did base those things on the real model.

I remember seeing a photo of the Super Star Destroyer where a 1/35th Tamiya figure was "buried" in the detail. Don't know whether this was a replica or the real thing; assuming it was the real thing as not many people have tried to tackle this one.

Also, while not a model, there is the matte painting from the original Battlestar Galactica which has been titled "Why the Cylons Attacked". For those who haven't seen it, a certain "colorful metaphor" is visible in the lights of the city in the lower righthand corner.

The M Falcon on the back of the bridge mass of the Roger Young in SST.

One of the space suited figures of Kirk or Spock from STTMP on the side of the ship in Space Balls.

I saw the Green Army Man on the SSD when it was on display in SF years ago.

Also in the mat paintings of the DS2 there is the Trans America building in the trench and a Smiley face head on one of the scouts in the Hanger scene Mat.

The same greeblie that is on the Snow Troopers belt buckle is also on the ankles of the Giger Alien.

The Firefly ship in the Mini series of the New BSG, think the Enterprise is as well.

The Imp Shuttle in an episode of Firefly as well as Flynns Archade (Tron)

Really?? Where about is this on the fantail? *runs to find ERTL instructions*

On the top of the fantail, port side. I'm going to have to look at mine. I thought it was the 'G' - maybe it was one of the other letters...........

I thought it was funny when I first spotted it on the filming miniature, and even funnier when I saw a portion of it on the instructions.

Wow....I forgot about this......

Look immediately below the "Enterprise" on the port fantail. The instructions reproduce the entire word UGLY.

serenity

not really a ship based cudo...in the movie serenity, when they are on the planet Miranda and looking at the rescue ship the lettering above on the building reads "C57D, the name of the ship from forbidden planet.

Isn't ET in ROTS or AOTC in the republlic senate thingy?

Yeap. I think it is Phantom Menace. That or the second one. The prequels
weren't that good for me to wanna remember it. :sick

That explains why ET got so excited to see the kid dress as Yoda in HIS film.

HOME......HOME............. :lol

R2D2 seems to hitch a ride wherever he can. Here he's perched on the ledge of the CE3K mothership and the Roger Young.

Thankfully it's not just me then!

My better(?) half despairs when I point out detailing on the back deck of the Millennium Falcon with a cry of "That's the fork legs from an Esci 1/8 BMW R75!" :rolleyes

Still, it often results in lone viewing with no interruptions so who am I to complain?

Since CGI has kicked in the condition has ebbed somewhat but I still watch for a glimpse of digitally accurate Tamiya 1/35 Sherman bits on the latest sci-fi blockbuster.

I am considering electroshock aversion therapy, pass the ball gag. :wacko
