Hi guys,
I'm new to the movie prop hobby world but have been a vinyl/resin model painter for about twenty years emphasizing 1/6 characters and dioramas. I was doing some research on modifying a resin PR I am working on and stumbled onto your site. Hopefully I can contribute something....

Hi Scott,
Welcome to the RPF, nice to see you over from the CH.
If your PR is 1-1 scale than posting in the main prop forum would work best for you since not may proppers come in this area.
What's the make of your kit?

The one I put together several years ago used Icons hero shrouds, resin copy off a real Thompson and some real parts including the Spas cage, brass strips and plates where used for the strapping and assembly plates, stock is metal (not sure where it came from), it has a working counter using the safety switch as an on/off and the mag release resets it.
Mine is the green one in the pic below and the black one I put together for a buddy of mine using the same parts.

Thanks Moony for the kind words, I couldn’t recommend that line of busts enough …That was the last piece I did before I started airbrushing. I really want to do another one but a closet of unfinished kits is standing in the way.

E, Thanks for the advise, I hate to admit it but I bought the kit off of a guy on ebay. Just looking for a piece in my “zombie survival kit” and bought it emotionally not thinking to question its originality. The seller claimed the pulse Rifle was as a one-of-a-kind fan made by expert prop maker and not mass produced and produced a series of strong looking kits. After I received it there were some casting issues so I asked him if the rifle was a recast from a commercially produced version or did he make a pulse rifle and cast his own work? Still waiting to hear form him.  So I spent my Saturday making lemonade and sanding seams.. lol

Sounds like it may be a recast.
I hope it wasn't Golden Armor you got it from.

Is the back end of the shroud round or square on the top?
If it's square it may be off an Icons.

If you post pix maybe someone can ID it for you.
