Announcing the Launch of HeroComm.com
</span></div>

On September 8th, the premiere Star Trek classic communicator prop information center for collectors, hobbyists, and historians goes online.

HeroComm.com, a free and commerce-free website, will be a read-only library of all things related to Wah Chang’s famous creation. It will feature the identification details of all ten original comms and also of common fakes, a comprehensive history of the prop, complete screen cap and image library with never-seen-before past and current photos, and when complete, detailed plans (based on measured originals) and a tutorial that will allow anyone to build a truly accurate replica with correct and period-authentic details. A special highlight will be the Master Tracking List, which charts each communicator through episodes and – when found – through time to today.

HeroComm.com promises plenty of surprises, hours of reading, days of viewing, and if you’re so inclined, weeks and months of planning and building. As we are also engaged in finally locating all surviving screen-used communicators, we give special attention to the discrete needs of current owners and future collectors, while keeping in reserve certain “tells” that will assist us in our ongoing authentication efforts.

We are soliciting ever-more information to make this resource as comprehensive and accurate as possible. Do you have any seldom seen photos or obscure comm-related facts or documentation? We would love to hear from you. Are you an owner of an original communicator prop yourself? Then secure and enhance the value of your investment by contacting us at contact@herocomm.com. Please be advised we cannot respond to inquiry from the merely curious.

HeroComm.com is a not-for-profit anonymous team labor of love intended strictly for the open and beneficial dissemination of information. Updates to this announcement will follow prior to launch date as necessary.

What a great idea. Will the site also contain information on where to obtain the components needed to build accurate comms?

Yes, it will include all the resources needed to identify and locate all the parts needed to build one as close to the originals as possible. :)
