Help with Jayne's wrist bracelet restraint from Firefly Serenity

Hi, I would like to ask for some help with Jayne's wrist bracelet restraint from Firefly Serenity. I'm having some trouble figuring out how it's made. It seems to wrap around but the strap portion also appears to be part of the same single piece of leather. The over all pattern is a little confusing.

It appears that one side has the long straps and slips through a cut in the bracelet but if so, what keeps the strap adhering to the bracelet itself?

Can anyone that has one take a photo of it unwrapped so I can see how to make it? Or does anyone have a pattern?

This is a really rough sketch, but I plan to make mine something like this.

It looks like the straps loop through the inside hole, then outside the wrist, through the buckle and then tuck back into the outside hole.

your post got me motivated and I made one of these up tonight. It is pretty much the same as the pattern I posted. I am not sure if this is the real way they did it, but it seems pretty close. Close enough for me to wear anyway...

I copied the pattern to paper and did a test fitting

then transferred that to leather with some adjustments

did the same test again after it was in leather

then I dyed it black and put it back together with a couple of rivots to hold the buckles in.

hopefully if you are still looking to make this bracelet, this helps you in some way...

That's exactly right. It's how I did mine anyway.

I may be wrong but I believe the original was one of Adam's own items. You can hit Hollywood Blvd and pick one up at near any of the "rock shops" but I seem to recall the original being from the 80's so the exact style may be different.
