Help to identify this C3PO helmet !! Thanks

Hello all,

I recently bought this helmet. And i would need some help to identify it.

It is made of gelcoat and a thin but strong layer of fiberglass.

It looks pretty old, and the brass eyes look dirty because of the age... The edges look sharp, and on the top part of the face piece that goes inside the back top there are some small circles...

It is a two piece helmet.

I would tend for a Zorg helmet.

It would be interesting to see some comparison pics with your helmet kit derived from the DP (itself derived from an original ESB helmet according to Don Bies).

I have a Zorg helmet myself, and i do not think that is got much to do with it.

I will post pics of all three together tomorrow... now is night time in Spain

Hi again Nairod... i just came from putting together the helmets... maybe you can be right. Tomorrow i will post pics and measurements...

By the way...just one question... My Zorg helmet is a one piece helmet, and this one is a two pieces...did Zorg made both versions?

I may try to contact Zorg and ask him.

Zorg only made two parts helmets. The one piece cast is probably a Dishman helmet, who recasted Zorg's helmet. (and it's also night time here in France )

A Dishman helmet? i have never heard of it ! Could you please tell me more about it?

And one question to all 3PO experts...what is the eyes size of the original 3po?

From what I remember, Dishman's heads replicas were only available on ebay (and Dishman is the nickname of the seller).

Sometimes it was possible to buy chromed head, and sometimes raw unfinished.

I read some stories which claimed that Dishman get agreement from Zorg to recast his helmet. But finally, when I got a Zorg's helmet, I asked him about this story and it wasn't true.

Dishman's heads are one piece white polyurethan cast where Zorg's helmet are fiberglass with white finish (probably gel coat).

I made an approximativ measurement of my Russrep brass eyes grids. I obtained 3.9cm and it's supposed to be made from an original set.

The eye holes that i had on my Don Post ones were 3,8 cm.... so it matches.... at least the eyes hole...

I have found this pic... why people are using 3,65 cm ones?
