Help needed with creating seams

G'day. I've made a few things now from a Cyberman head to spaceships and I've always had problems with creating straight seams(the gaps between two panels). My seams always come out uneven and wonky. Whats the secret? If it were a digital model, no worries. How can I fix this monstrosity?

Use filler on the spots where there are errors. After it dries, follow up with a suitable tool and ensure the places where the filler is, is sanded smooth. Paint with primer and repeat until the lines/recesses are smooth. It will take a bit of time, but the results will be worth it.

Before you do the scoring use vinyl strips or thicker tape strips to use like a ruler as if you were masking off the line for painting. I've seen a certain hyper detailing modeler use that self adhesive text labeler strip cut into narrow strips and used as rulers for his panel cuts. That should be enough of a clean guide to make first light score and the next few passes should naturally follow your first score. The other tip is having the tip of the scriber further away as compared to how you hold a pen and only use dragging motions. This will naturally make scores straighter.

I am not 100% certain this is what you were asking though?

Also, fold up some sandpaper around a piece of cardboard or styrene and sand down the seam. The cardboard/styrene should be flexible enough to stay within the seam. Sanding complex curves around a round object is always hard, but you are not far off from making this look good.
