Help Identifying "Raiders" spoof jacket from UHF

I'm looking for some help identifying the jacket worn by Weird Al Yankovic in the 1989 movie UHF.
The specific jacket is worn during the opening scene's "Raiders of the Lost Ark" spoof.
It's similar, but not exactly like the Raiders jacket, with outlined zippered slash pockets on the front and a third horizontal pocket on the left front.
Anyone know what this is?

An old motor bike jacket?
This vintage 40's jacket with a half-belt is similar in many ways (lacking the side straps and D-rings, by the looks of things, and no zippers on pockets etc.), that it might be a place/ era to start searching (the site it's from make replicas of this and other leather jackets, so you may yet find something closer there).

Indeed, that’s the direction I’ve been going and I have found a few similar jackets. I appreciate an additional source to scour!

Looks like the jacket is an 1950/1951 Sears Hercules jacket. It’s horsehide. Now to hunt one down.
