Help ID my Vader Helm

Hi all,

I have had this Vader in my collection for years now and have always been curious as to its origins.

I've always thought it has DP deluxe characteristics, but the dome has always thrown me off - the little ANH widows peak.

Vader experts, what say ye?

My guess would be Altmann's, but I'm not an expert at all. I just remember those having very square cheeks like yours.

It could be an early Altmann's, there are some similarities, it's definitely not one of his LFL licensed ones though. I'm curious too as to who could have made that one.

I'd put my vote on an Altmanns as well or an original sculpt - definitely not a cast off of something from an original source.

I dont think its altmanns...what is it made of? Also, can we see the connector between dome and helmet.

one clue might be to let us know where / how you acquired it and where from.
as in eBay / auction / what country / etc?

Its made of black gelcoated fiberglass.
I got it from a guy on Tdh whose name escapes me, other than he lived in the Chicago area? I think it was Judz Dwedd?

Looks like an original sculpt to me. I have only seen a few Altman's, but the cheeks are smaller and the bottom chin area would angle in even more.

Doesn't look like an Altmann's....not ugly enough!:lol
Post a pic of the dome/mount and top of the facemask. Although it could be that the dome and mask aren't even related as they are different eras...i.e ANH dome, ESB/ROTJ mask.

Well who made an ANH lid with an oversized chin vent?

Could you get a pic of how the dome connects?

I certainly don't have a list of people that made Vader lids over time, but those things might jog some much more knowledgeable person's memory.

Yes, definitely not cast from an original. It has many Altmans characteristics so is either a fan sculpt from someone or a reworked Altmans, IMHO.
