help ID - Kroenen buckle and boots

hey guys - still in the slow process of gathering goods

LDR - I am sure u will be posting soon.

1st off - wots the buckle insignia of the Officer Kroenen or Nazi Kroenen set up at the start of the film?

I am pretty sure its the 1st one

next up - lookin at some posts here; I heard that the movie boots were actuall biltrite boots. cant seem to find em. any1 who knows where I can find one or at least a nice replica; I am all ears.

Well, not looking at any screen caps or anything, I'd have to say the first buckle for no other reason than it's an SS OFFICER'S buckle. The second one is for enlisted personnel in the SS.

The belt buckle is the round SS Officer's version (#1); as far as the boots, I would say they are supposed to be standard German Officer's Riding Boots, but they look flat-soled in some shots (easier to do stunts in, I suppose).

If I recall the stunt ones were softer leather with a rubber sole so that they could move better.

thanks guys - I am almost 90% sure its the 1st officers buckle as well. not got any clear piccies of the detail on one thoug

as for the boots - it was this thread http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=18001&highlight=kroenen than mentioned the biltrite boots.

but I will prob end up with some german officer boots from are-enactors tye shop.
