I am planning on sculpting the Dredd elbow and knee pad armor in 30 shore urethane. My problem is that I was unable to locate anything other than black or white colorant that will work with it. Anyone with resources for other colors, the info would be welcome, especially if you have actually used the product successfully. I am specifically looking for green colorant additive, for obvious reasons. I don't think painting the pads is a viable option. Any help offered would be welcomed. Thanks.:)

I don't know anything about colorant additive for urethane casting, sorry. But are you sure painting it is not an option? I've found that acrylics made for painting leather will stick to just about anything, and won't crack when flexed (Angelus brand, for example). I can't say for sure on 30 shore urethane, but I suspect they would work. I've used them on leather, vinyl, various casting rubbers...

Thanks Max, I've used acrylics myself on latex masks but usually mixed with latex prosthetic glue. Sometimes it works but sometimes I've had it crack. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, I was sort of hoping to eliminate the experimental aspect since it is prohibitively expensive to try what might not work. Since my inquiry, I found that Smoothon carries pigments made for urethane rubber. I should have tried them earlier, but the guy at my urethane and resin source locally didn't carry any pigment for anything but resin and he said it wasn't compatible. I'll order from Smoothon since a bottle of green is about $25. Thanks again for the suggestion, it's nice when people try to help. I'm sure differing acrylics have different capabilities also. Yours may help me in a different project. I'm also going to try a harder urethane like shore 80; Less flex.;)
