Anyone come across a place to get helmets from the LOTR movies?
I mean besides the ones made by UC. For example the helm of Theoden?

I've seen sporatic scatterings of custom Theoden Helms on eBay. As far as sites though, I know of none. I've really been wanting a Helm of Eowyn as Dernhelm for the longest. As far as I know there's no plans for it or Theodens. I believe UC is coming out with an Eomer pretty soon though so maybe it's the first in line in a set of Rohan'esque Helms....? Would be awesome.

That's the rumor. They have discontinued a few items and there's rumor of Chapter 11. Not sure what's true though.

As far as I know, UC has no plans to make any of the Rohan helms because of cost issues. They have not released plans for any new LOTR stuff in quite a while. I wouldn't hold your breath on anything new.

I have also seen a few places doing custon "Rohan inspired" helmets. But never anything solid.

Besides the elven helmet (which can be gotten through ebay for around
130 these days) UC made the following helms: Sauron, Witch King, Elendil,
Isildur, Gimli, and Gondor Infantryman.

Wow. Thanks for notifying me. I must say that the Sauron and Witch-King helmets (the ones I was hoping on getting when i save up enough extra cash) are a bit of a disapointment to me in terms of overall look. Is anyone else disapointed? I must admit that I saw an Isildur helmet on eBay a while back, but I thought it was a custom made piece since the seller didn't specify where it came from.

BTW, I can't wait for tomorrow since I, as well as many others here, will be able to experience full membership here on the RPF. OT forum, here I come.

I cannot say re the Sauron helmet, but in person I think the Witch-King is spectacular.
Both of these are huge by the way.

One helmet I would definatley buy would be the Mouth of Sauron helmet, that is if it looks good to me. If it's wearable, it would remove one of the biggest challenges in my quest to make a custom MoS costume as I've not the materials nor the skill to make one myself. Please see my (now VERY old) thread in the costume forum if you can help with this.

Some day I need to do a lightweight version of the Elven Warrior helm. The UC version weighs in at 5 lbs. Too heavy to wear for costuming in my opinion, only good for display.

I owned the sauron helm for a while, and it was spectacular. It was huge, and really really cool. It's long since gone, but still worth picking up if you want a cool display piece... only problem is, it'll take away from everything else you have, even when I had a TK standing in the room, everyones eyes were always drawn to sauron. What can I say? It's a sweet looking helmet

What are you basing this on? Have you actaually seen the pieces? I've found the UC helmets to be overally impressive, in construction and accuracy and for the price they really can't be beat).

If you've still not seen UC's full range (including LOTR sheilds and gauntlet(s)), you can view them here, so don't get mistaken by cheap knock-offs on eBay pretending to be a UC product, as UCs range really is impressive to see in person:

I have to agree - the UC helmets are quite good, particularly at their price
point which has been dropping of late.

The UC helmets were quite nice but heavy, very heavy and I can imagine they would be too much after a short while of wearing.
Details on the ones I looked at seemed to be quite nice it's a shame that UC no longer have the license for them.

Heehee......the original is pretty light. :p I was thinking about the material they used for DP's IRG helmet and how much it feel like that when I held and examine the Prologue and Gondorian Helmets. I too wish my UC Prologue Helmet is THAT light too.

Now if only I can find the Gondorian Fountain Guard Helmet to kick start mine and friends' plan to do that Costume. :love

A few of those helmets are still on sale here in Wellington... maybe. There was a Gimli there for sure, and I think I saw the Witch King lid too. Hard to say.

hey if you're still interested in LOTR helmets I have the helmet of king Elendil for sale if you'd like to buy it. I'm asking $250 + shipping for it.

any updates on rohan made helmets from uc, just curious to see if something developed over the last few years with them not being bankrupt anymore
