*HELMET INSIDE PIC ADDED* My MR Fett Helmet Has Arrived

I know there is another MR Fett helmet thread but since those are pics from a member over at Rebel Scum, I thought I would be the first RPF member to post pics of a helmet in hand. :D

It's obvious that it's a factory paint job but I will say that it is pretty damn good considering all of the marks, scuffs and scrapes to duplicate. I know a lot has been made about the paint "splatters" on the stalk, but I do remember seeing a pic of one of the originals that had them so I can't really fault them for duplicating it.

I'm not a Fett "purist" by any stretch, but I really like this helmet.

That's a damn fine paintjob, especially considering it's a factory job.

The only part of it I'm not fond of is the green splotches on the back over the aluminium. They just look really out of place.

Nice! the ESB helmet isn't my thing... i'm a RotJ sorta Fetthead. But that definitely looks the part to me!

Compare to the other high end, mass-market replica (pic from starwarshelmets.com)

I think they did an admirable job, and it's a fitting end to the MR helmet line!

PS: 1000th post! :)

Re: My MR Fett Has Arrived - pics

Is that how your range finder came? It looks like there's a section missing. :confused

EDIT: Ah, OK. I read your subsequent post with the new pictures. :)

Definitely pieces missing off the rangefinder. Looks like the lens and the piece behind it.
See other thread to compare.
I hope it didn't come that way - sure would be a huge oversight by quality control.

Re: My MR Fett Helmet Has Arrived - pics

This is really nice to hear folks. I worked really hard with MR and the factory to at least ensure accurate colors and weathering. MR did all they could to get it as accurate and affordable as possible. Although every single detail couldn't be included. This piece is not easy to replicate even doing it yourself and considering the numbers these were produced in It's good to hear positive comments.

Also, note the "T" and dot that was left on the RF earcap which was on during filming but is not on there today. thought you folks might like that.

By the way where is your eyepiece for the rangefinder?

I believe the rangefinder piece that's missing is a cover for the batteries...

Can't wait for mine to arrive. :)

Re: My MR Fett Helmet Has Arrived - pics

OK, in my haste to take pictures I forgot to put it back on, it comes wrapped separately in the box, but you need to remove it to put the batteries in. :redface:lol

Re: My MR Fett Helmet Has Arrived - pics

I really love the paintjob! Very nice. And I hate to say it but there are two quality control issues I see. One is the missing part. (Maybe its in the box still?) And the other more serious one I see; does anyone else see the warp on the back part of the helmet? It looks squeezed and bulged out.

Sorry to seem like I'm abusing your purchase.:redface

Check the post just before yours. :D

Re: My MR Fett Helmet Has Arrived - pics

I have replaced the pics in the first post with the "complete" helmet. :lol

One of the things MR left in it. The real helmet is warped this way. If you have ref pics the Heilman photos show this on the ROTJ as well.

Thanks for posting the pics!
Looks great and I'm excited about receiving mine.

It's a MASSIVE shame about the tapering vertical section of the T visor though. Lee - do you know of any way this can be fixed? I'm surprised Lucasfilm let this go out with such a flaw which isn't present on the real ESB helmet. :cry

Re: My MR Fett Helmet Has Arrived - pics

It is present on the PP3 though which is what was scanned. The shape of the helmet is much better than anything made public before but I still have fears that the production model's shape is inferior to earlier versions.

Its a fabulous collectors piece and I think they achieved just what they wanted to with it; a real looking Fett helmet. So again, I am sorry to bring these concerns to a show off thread.

Re: My MR Fett Helmet Has Arrived - pics

Chris, I'm not sure how or why that occured. Hopefully someone from MR on here can contact the factory and get this fixed ASAP. I only saw prototypes so I am not sure how it's attached on the inside.

Good eye Chris....now the taper is starting to bug me too!:unsure

Still psyched to get mine though!

Re: My MR Fett Helmet Has Arrived - pics

As Davy Jones said the taper IS there on the helmet they scanned (The PP3 - which is the same one they based the paint job on).

The taper does bug me too a bit, but it is correct to that particular helmet.
