Sorry I missed this thread on the day of his actual birthday. Man, I loved this guy's music. It just hurts thinking about the potential songs we've missed out on in the last thirty-three years because he never got a chance to write them. What I think is amazing about this guy is that he goes through the entire Beatles experience, writes these great, smart, melodic songs, and THEN raises his game as a craftsman as a solo artist. Lennon/Plastic Ono Band is amazing music. And after all that he STILL has a song like Imagine in him. And, finally, Woman, on his last album (if you don't count the posthumous Milk And Honey) is one of the best songs he ever wrote; a gorgeous melody with John backing himself as a singer. Happy belated birthday, JL! Miss you.
