Anyone else pick up the *Exclusive* PKE Meter at Halloweencostumes.com? They have a model that was made for them that has a handle that is squared, like the actual prop, and the screen is actually raised up to the face of the meter rather than being recessed like the Rubies and Spirit models. It still has the silly clip that the Rubies and Spirit models have, but you can plug this with a 3d printed plug and some work.

This would be a great addition to any Ghostbusters kit, as it adds that little bit more of screen realism to it with the squared handle, and raised screen. The only downside is the green LEDs on the arms. It could be a great replacement for the shells that are so rare to find, too.

Check it out

Wish I had known about this before getting the Spirit one.

I'm still hopeful that Hasbro comes out with one that's more in line with the old Mattel one.

As you said the belt clip can easily be cut out and made more accurate. There is a seller on Etsy that has a 3D printed plug for the back of the Spirit one. You can also add a second more accurate screen to it with no work needed.

This is my modded Spirit one, but I'd still prefer one with the more accurate square handle.

Mine arrived today, and while I'm no expert on Ghostbusters props, first impressions are that it's enormous. It's 11" long from bottom of handle to top of head. Now, it's been years since I've seen Ghostbusters, but I could have sworn the prop looked about 8" or 9" long max. I could be wrong though, like I said I'm not an expert.

It comes in a plain white box with a Ghostbusters label taped on.

Packing inside is just some foam sheet:

In hand:

It's huge! The head is the size of my hand, and I'm a 6' 1" guy.

I haven't put batteries in yet, but from the shape of the door it looks like it takes a 9v.

I assure you, it's the right size:) Okay, it may be a little wide.

That's crazy. Normally props look larger on-screen than they actually are; for example, I remember being shocked the first time I held replica TNG-era phasers and tricorders because they seem tiny compared to how they look on screen.

You, too, can have a base for it :) The original, I think, was green, painted black.

Has anyone ever made good casts of the shoe polisher? For those of us who don't want to pay the obscene shipping rates to have it shipped overseas :)
Or should I be asking somewhere like gbfans?

Amusingly, I only seem to ever find the casts coming from The UK. I believe there's a source there.
