Gone but not forgotten.
That's because the Oscars were directed by George Lucas who plans to re-issue the 2010 Oscars on Blu-Ray and add in Haim and Graves.

Yes, I agree. It's quite disgusting to omit people for whatever reason. I had heard that it was because of a "time length" issue of the show. Pfff, whatever. Sounds more like Hollywood politics.

Corey Feldman pointed out beforehand that they left Haim off the tribute at the SAG awards and hoped that the Academy didn't do the same.

Obviously part of the Hollywood Star Wackers conspiracy. They had it in for Graves and Haim just like theyre the ones out to get your buddy Charlie.

Just because someone overdoses on drugs, doesnt mean their work should not be appreciated and the loss of that person should not be acknowledged.

So we should never talk about Belushi?? And you need to read the report on Haims death - he didnt OD

Maybe I worded my comment poorly. I was trying to say just because Haim had a drug problem that may or may not have contributed to his death, DOES NOT mean we should ignore his work or omit the acknowledgement of the loss.
It was a response to the post immediately before mine. I should have quoted it to make my thought more clear.

I'm not surprised. The academy is made up of self important snobs, i'm amazed they can stopping kissing each other's butts long enough to notice that anyone died.

I remember when "complications from pneumonia" was code for another cause of death. Was Haim a regular IV drug user?

Regardless, they guy was -- at one point some 20-odd years ago -- rather important to the film industry. To ignore him and Peter Graves is pretty weak. But then, it IS the Oscars we're talking about.

I mean, sure, Peter Graves made a lot of crappy Roger Corman films, and was "only" in the Airplane movies and such. I guess that's not good enough for the Oscars. Wonder what they'll do (if anything) when Corman himself dies. Probably ignore it altogether.

Graves was TV, Haim didn't exactly do Raging Bull or something.

Sorry, you can't cover everyone.

More overblown media hype.

But that's the thing these days.

But they can acknowledge some production assistant nobody outside of hollywood ever heard of? How about they cut Paltrow's crap singing to make the time. BTW Clint Eastwood died 2 years ago, Death is just too Chicken**** to come and get him.

Is it really a big deal? Was Haim really lighting up the marquees with his body of work? This is the same deal with Farrah. What did she, or Haim do to really make a mark in the film industry?
