Me too. I think that when it first came out in late 1986, it was a great time to be a Trek fan.
Many conventions and "Trek Cruises" with the stars, a lot of paraphernalia to choose from, and this "happy/fun" movie as the latest installment. I think it was a high point in the "movie era" of Trek.
