Goonies gathering in Astoria, June 4th-7th!

As a 25th anniversary celebration of the film, a gathering is planned in the city of Astoria, Oregon this coming June. Corey Feldman is confirmed at this time, and nearly 2000 lunatics(including me) will descend on the area for a nostalgic geekathon!

We've already rented a house on the beach with a direct view of Haystack Rock, and will definitely be checking out all the sites, especially Ecola SP. We'll also be driving down the coast afterwards to the Redwoods for a couple of days of hiking.thumbsup

I have always been a little bitter about this movie, even though I loved it because I had a change to work on the film but was grounded and could not go (I was in high school at the time) but maybe I just need to let that go:rolleyes

Back on topic - at Ecola, if you are interested, I can guide you to the exact curve in the road where Brand goes over the edge on the bike (among other spots). Same trees still there.

Ever since this movie came out I've always wanted to live there. Now it's more of a general Pacific Northwest thing, but Astoria is my dream destination.

Been there. Beautiful area! Ecola state park is wonderful as well! So much more to see there than just Goonies stuff too! I loved the Goonies stuff!
