been working out the basics before i start on one of sorayamas girl heads/neck/sholders(?)

i like the look of these ones in particular
i have ordered up some neon green perspex which i hope to mount so that the edge will act like the light on the girls visors.

today i just caught a glimps of keanes new video in which there appears to be a live action sorayama based girl. can only find a couple of seconds of the video so ill need to wait till its out properly to have a good look.

any thoughts?

i think it will be fiberglass and car body filler. i hear there is quite a lot of heat involved with vac plating so it will have to be some material that will withstand this. this will probably be a one off.

yeah thats it thanks:thumbsup, you see a better shot at 2:45

cant make my mind up if it cgi or not:unsure the ears are different and we dont see the top of he head, unless there are actors/models with no noses they probably wouldnt be able to get the "helmet" on.

looking to get a bust like this or a fiberglass one if i can get one cheap enough. i know these are quite undersized but i could layer fiberglass over the top then melt out the core........

Love Sorayama's Gynoids.
I have his Sexy Robot's book.
Looking forward to seeing you take on this.

Might want to look into some EL or neon behind the visor.
Depends on how thick the perspex is.

Looks CG in the video.

There are a few (rare) figures based on his work but they base on his other works, the best one is called Commando.
Others are Slave, Blind Beauty and Amazon.
Maybe a few others.

BTW Did you see these?
Loosely based on his stuff.
I think they have a few more in the works from pix I saw from Wonderfest.

i missed a copy of the book a few weeks ago on ebay, was kicking myself as i turned the pc on about 15mins after it ended, DOH!

I know the kits you mentioned, they have been out for a good few years now and are available in recast form from our thai "friends"....commando is my favorite.

el wire was my fist consideration for the visor, ill see what the perspex looks like when it arrives , its 5mm thick. i know the edge will have to be polished, might not work at all. not sure how it works?

might need to get the ear spikes machined. im thinking about a small button headed hex bolt for the "beauty spot"

i always thought the designers of the robocop head had a sneek peek at sorayamas gynoids....know what i mean.

So are you going after the style, but not duplicating a specific piece? Just curious. I am excited to see you work on this as you are a very talented sculptor.

i got the neon green perspex in and its just what im looking for:love

bryan- im going for the look of the droids in the first post. maybe not an exact copy but near enough.

the head ill try and get as close as i can, i might put some panel lines or whatever. not sure on how much to do e.g. just head and neck or part of the shoulders too.
i think it would look better with the shoulders and have the head turned or tilted up.

im still looking for a maniquinne head on ebay that i can use as a base. i found one but its bloody expensive, too expensive just to hack up.

im still checking ebay daily for a decent one.

i got the button head "beauty" spot and a found item for the ears.

I hope you end up finding exactly what you are looking for. I cant wait to see this come together.

nice find indeed, ahh the lancia y10. probably about 1 left that still drives.

i did get a maniquinne head from ebay but i was pissed off to find it was about 2/3 human scale. complete waste of money..

ill wait till the weather warms up a bit before i venture out in the garage to start on it again

do you think one of these would work for the shape of the head?

it states "The inside circumference is approximately 22.75"

i know nothing about football helmets, is this the size inside the padding or the helmet itself?

i'm thinking x-small might be better

there are plenty of helmets on ebay.com but very few that will post to the u.k.

anyone willing to help a guy out?
