Gone but not forgotten.
In my hunt for the vacuum cleaner that will not fall into enemy hands, I think I made a partial side-discovery!

I think the oxygen destroyer might have been made from the end caps of a Japanese clone of a 1925 Electrolux. :)

Anyone know where to look for half century old Japanese vacuum cleaners?

Very similar.

Would have to be clone, as that 1925 version is close, but not exactly it.

Great lead on an iconic piece.

Yeah, while I was looking for the Rocketeer vac, I kept coming across pics of this one too and thinking "Dammit! I've seen THAT somewhere too!" and it finally clicked last night. :lol

tangent question: I haven't seen that flick since I was a kid, and i never quite got the ending... do I remember correctly that the oxygen destroyer bomb reduced godzilla to a skeleton underwater? It killed the big G?

and if you watched the 1995 movie Godzilla Vs Destroyah, it also gave rise to one of Godzilla's greatest foes the monster named in the said movie title, still, i'd love to see a completed oxygen destroyer!

a new movie would be cool or update the original with effect of this day and age. and when people are to close they die from the radiation he gives off. the part about the original that gets me is he turns to bone but they dissappear, then in the 1985 version raymond burr says no bones were ever found, then you go to the japanese version from 2001 or 2002 and they have a complete skeleton of godzilla and they use dna from the bone to make a mechagodzilla.

Yeah I was down clearing out the garage for the new shop earlier and stopped for a smoke break. I'd tossed one of these big oil tanks out a few days ago w/ a very similar 3 post pump. As I was sitting there puffing away, I looked at the pump and thought "Dang... that LOOKS like something..." then I started hearing that Indiana Jones map room music in my head when the light beam points out the Well of the Souls, and realized this thing has been sitting here for the last 30 years.... :eek

I think this is the direction to look in- this is SO damned close- We just have to find the right make and model!
