So, I've been working on this for about 3 days so far. I've always wanted to do a Batman costume but I didn't want it to be a simple reproduction of one of the movie suits, especially since I felt they never got it quite right. For me, there is only one form of entertainment that isn't the comic book itself that got Batman right, and that is the Animated Series. So I figured that now would be the time to do it the best justice I could. That being said, I am a stickler for details and perfection so if it doesn't turn out as well as I intended I won't be posting it to the costume contest, but I figured I would go ahead and set up the build and give it a go at showing how I get to where I....get. Here's what I have so far...
I found the model from the Arkham City game and dismantled it. I then sculpted detail into it since it is a really low-poly model. Which I then spliced to 3d print...

(pay no attention to the airsoft project)
I also had modeled a more "detailed" version of the grappling gun he uses in the cartoon and 3d printed that...

I have 2 yards of Neoprene to make the boot covers, gloves, cowl, and undies with. I bought 4 cans of Navy blue Plasti-dip to coat it all with to give it an even dark blue appearance. I and CNCing out the body forms from EVA foam and am going to make the suit out of some grey fabric I found at Joanns'. I have some urethane mix from Smooth-On and am going to attempt to take a mold off of the face piece and create an actual appliance to wear to give myself the chin. I honestly doubt I can have this done right in the next two weeks but I am going to give it a try.
