Glowing eyes/lenses?

Well, I had a project in mind for some time, and it requires a glowing lense for the eyepiece.
The trick is that the glow would need to look "uniform" but still allow the wearer to see through the lens.
A bit like on a DeepEyes/ Jin Roh helmet. I'm thinking on using LEDs, but I don't really know where to start, and how to conceal them so the glow looks uniform.
So any ideas would be great!

look on the non pred costume part .... the guy who made the movie iron man helmet may be able to help... he put lights in the eyes for that.... but i dont know if you could still see, i like this idea tho.... maybe a quick flash of white/blue leds would be good like when the preds eyes appear in cloaked mode.... keep us updated with your progress

Ive been toying with this idea for a long time on my P1, ive tried elwire and leds so far but as you say , getting the light uniformed is a fooker

Eltape would give a nice uniform look but you cannot see past it sadly.

I have some more leds here im going to try when time permits. ill be sure to post ifi come up with anything. and ill keep an eye on this thred also

The Vandykes system isnt bright enough to light a whole lens. ( i looked into it )

and the EL sheet you cannot see past ggrrr.

im sure well crack this sooner or later.

I do not know what exactly you are trying to archive
Maybe it's possible to look past the sides of the glowing eye panels
in case of the Jin-Roh design it shouldn't be that tough
Because of the little space between your eyes and the non see through parts of the goggles
you would be able to maintain a decent field of view trough the holes left and right of the glowing eyes (shown in green)

I also read once that the effects team working on the movie “The Lost Boys”
had to come up with a way to give there Vampires glowing eyes.
So they built contact lenses that work like cat eyes.
They took the same light reflecting pigments used for road lines.
But I do not think that this information helps much because it were custom build contacts
and you would need someone who points a Flashlight at your eyes constantly to get the desired effect ^^.
