Ghostbusters a journey

Like most i watched Ghostbusters as a film that was aways on during the high holidays
when meeting my sisters boyfriend John (aka Roy_outta on GB uk) and then accidentally meeting the rest of GB uk i started my journey into the Ghostbusters fandom

Proton Pack:

first i started with the proton pack pepakura file created by Proton Chargers from GB fans all things were going well with the card reinforcement
with metal tape, cardboard and resin painted on the outside

Concerned about weight issues i decided to paper mache it BIG MISTAKE! D:
the thin card bucked and the metal tape peeled off the end result a was lumpy mess,
fortunately i managed to resurrect it with a motherboard and with other details like the booster tube, Ion arm and gear box detailing
and then re-surfaced it with filler but low and be hold my luck gave out and the wet filler buckled the cardboard but nothing a little expanding foam could fix.

abandoning the build for months as i had gotten my self into a rut and also due to focusing on my studying at collage, with encouragement and support
from the guys from GBuk I came back to the project with fresh eyes adding the injector tubes, Priming and painting the pack and details i came to see what i had all together.
now happier with the overall look my progress sped up and with odds and ends I started to create the Cyclotron with a cake pan, the bottoms of yogurt pots and Pringles tube (as seen in the bottom right corner), the crank knob and clippard.

adding the details and warning labels, bumper and ion cap the end was in sight all i needed to do was to make the thrower.

Proton Thrower:

The build begins using the thrower from the pepakura file as a template i glued it on thick cardboard and then cut out and glued together

(working mess!)

adding pvc tubes, push pins and a shower hose the thrower was nearly complete

painted with details, clear tube and fake lights added

the complete and mounted pack!

Hey bud would you happen to have the pep files or dimensions of the proton pack and wand? I recently started my own thread for a proton pack build, and I'm trying to find them for my Halloween costume this year and haven't had very much luck. Any input you or anyone else might have would be much appreciated!

Your pack looks good btw, I look forward to seeing more progress!

The Uniform

the basic flight suit was a Nomex brand suit in khaki bought from a seller found online
and the No-ghost and custom name patchs came from Cathy aka Katarra8 on ebay (some of her patches are already Velcro backed :thumbsup bonus!)

Elbow pads:

the elbow pads were harder to track down at a reasonable price, but i soon found a brand called Dons that sold volleyball pads that look very
close to the ones normally used, from a seller in the UK.

(the ones i received were white and didn't have the black borders)

i started by folding down and sewing the top and bottom parts up and removing the screen printed logo, i first tried to remove it using a sharp blade
to scrape it off but ended up cutting small holes in it >.< after stitching the fabric back together i tried to remove it using a rag and iron but ended up just using the
irons plate to heat and then peel it off.

to get the colour i first spray painted them with grey primer and then stretching the parts of it i used a grey sharpy to fill in some white bits, but having the part of the
the elbow pads that i have destroyed look even worse with the paint i decided to weather them slightly, at some point in the future i will also dye them but for now they look alright

Leg Hose and connector:

the yellow leg hose and connector were also found online the connector was bought from Nick-o-tron, the connector is a flexible rubber casting that was easy to sew on
and holds the leg hose quite well after an addition of a connector barb to the hose it self.
the hose connects to the back of the belt with a leather key fob. the hose has a plug in it which a hole was punched and a jump ring pushed though.

Belt Gizmo:

I decided to make my own belt gizmo and holder for my belt, after finding a broken TV set in a skip i recovered a circuit board that i later used for it.
cutting down and painting the board to a shade of green i was happy with i accented the board with gold circuit lines, cutting the end of some pen tubes off and hot gluing them
on with some painted thumb tacks the mother board was completed.
The daughter board was created by cutting off another piece of the TV circuit board and backing it with some card, the two pieces were then connected with a length of wire.
the holder for the Gizmo was a tape measure holder that was cut down and fitted to the board and then sprayed black and glued back together.

the uniform was completed with a Khaki gun belt, key fobs and black boots :)
