Gears of war COG suit (Fenix style)

Been at this for awhile....

The base for the chest was a Pepakura model that I hardened with resin the same way that another member did here with his Halo armor and then sculped over it. Then made a mold and cast it in resin.

The PEP files can be found at www.405th.com.
Credit goes to Spartan051 and Skullcandygirl for them.

The greaves are my sculpt however. The pep ones were to hard to scale to a human. I cast the greaves, beat them up, added some small details but they only have the base coat of paint on them in the pics. I still need to make the armor piece that goes between the boot and the greave.

The Lancer still needs repainted as that is the NECA paint thats on it.
No part of this suit is finshed yet.

The piece thats missing off the bottom of the backplate is the "Hatch" that comes off so I can get into it. Its not painted yet so I left it off in the pics.

I have the elbow and "Under shoulder" armor ready for paint but they are not wearable yet.

We need some more Gears suits out there. Come on fellas, get on it :).

Wow, fantastic start, the armour looks incredible so far.

Was the chest armour difficult to make from the pepkura models, i fancy giving that a try myself!!

Looking forward to more updates!!!

The breastplate can take a while to make. Your pretty much going to deal with 60 pages. I'm working on that one.

looks great, i had a buddy of mine make one for our con here. Would it be ok to post a picture of it here? He made a Marcus, and a Dom. He was supposed to have made a carmine as well, but a miscommunication delayed it a bit.
once again, great job:thumbsup

Thanks guys.
All of the parts for this suit are HUGE!!!

I will post progress pics as I get stuff done.

As for the chest Pep file, its not hard but it does take some time to both cut out and glue together.
Matakin is right, there are 60 pages to it.

It's pretty tough to see a lot of the detail work on it from the shots since your gun covers up most of the armor, but what I can see looks awesome! This is definitely one of the top projects I would like to start some day as the armor just looks so awesome! Great start on this one, I am really looking forward to your updates.

Small update...

Here is where it stands as of now.
I might repaint the chest and back.
After painting the greaves the way I did, I like them better.
The paint on the chest looks to "planned out" now.

The flash from the camera threw up a weird looking border on the wall.

Repaint?
Yeah?
No?

I say finish the rest of the pieces of the costume before repainting anything! It will all look different with less of the black under layer showing.
