Galivant on ABC

Anyone else see this? My folks have been watching it for a while but I never heard of it. It's a goofy show with a lot of singing but it doesn't take itself seriously and is set in medieval times.

Waaaaay too much singing. The wife and I gave up before the first show ended.

Wife thought the premiere was great...

Halfway through the second episode she finally understood just how unbelievably, painfully stupid it was and agreed with me never to watch it again. I was fortunate enough to only be subjected to those 1 1/2 shows.

Yeah I'm not big on it overall but it just struck me as very different from everything else, for some reason it reminds me of shows from the late 90s lol. That said it sure beats the reality shows my folks watch like folks living in the back woods of alaska lol

my kids and I are enjoying it... its like Monty Python meets Princess Bride. The lyrics to the songs can be pretty funny and quite suggestive... the kids don't pick up on that part. I think its good light fun and pretty funny but not gut busting hilarious by any means... I'm glad its only a month long mini series though so we can get back to Once Upon A Time... a show I can watch with my kids.... Rumpelstiltskin is my favorite character in the show and Robert Carlyle who plays him is the best! (although this show is starting to get a bit long in the tooth... I think they are running out of ideas with this show)

It's horrible. You'd think that with Alan Menken involved the songs would be better, but they are just sad. Then again, was only able to stomach the first night of this show. I couldn't take it anymore.

It was the oversaturation of trailers on ABC that had me hating it before it ever aired. I still won't watch it either!! HAHAH! Just that name is like nails across a chalkboard.

WAY overadvertised.

I wanted to watch it but forgot about it. Then we were flipping and it was just coming on. I am guessing the hour long show is two half hour episodes? Because there were intro credits and it was only on half an hour, yet the cable guide had it listed as being on the half hour prior as well.

Anyway, it had pirates and singing. I thought for sure I'd find it hilarious. I'm a musical theater person after all. But it was just hard to sit through. It wasn't that the performances were bad, it was that the whole thing was just ridiculous. Too much fluff, not enough actual story between songs. They needed half the songs. One, MAYBE two, per half hour max.

In retaliation, my husband made me watch three hours of COPS to clear the taste from his mouth.
