Has there ever been a replica done of the rifle in Galaxy Quest?

I saw that but the price is beyond my means, but the photos do a heck of a job showing details so that a replice could be made

I owned an original for a while, with the intent of replicating it. I decided to sell it instead.

There are so many odd little bits to it, some resin, some vacc formed, some parts were string, others little plastic bullets, and the rest was this odd snake skin material, so I decided it would have been more work than it was worth to try and copy.

But it is an awesome prop. Save up and buy an original. I don't see anyone sitting down and replicating it anytime soon.

Yup, Stan did them, there are lots of great pics in the Stan Winston studios book

I will have to get a copy of the book, I have it on my wishlist but so far it has not happened.
Sounds like the replica thing has not happened, odd I thought everything had been done at one time or anouther......

It's Cod if I remember correctly.

I have the working Hero pistol and rifle - I have had this project on the back burner for a year now. The pistol is completely disassembled and sitting in a bin - we took tons of pics. I should start a site dedicated to the thing and post them.

Just didn't think there was that much interest.
