I'm using 3mm Sintra, a lot of body filler, and fiberglass. Hopefully by the end of the summer i will have the right side shoulder bell, chest and back armor completed.

You can't see in the pics, but there are also the knee armor done.

That looks wicked! Really nice work so far...can't wait to see it all finished!

I'm totally digging the boots!! Keep us updated!

Hi Snowflake, your armor is coming along nicely!! :thumbsup
I´m glad I am not the only one that takes his time with costume-projects, finishing step by step and learning on the way. ;)
I love the Galactic Marine - concept, it literally screams in your face Don´t **** with me!, and I predict your costume will be worthy to join these tough guys!

I can´t make it out from the pics, but what was your method of building? Fiberglass, vacuuforming, or are all of these prototypes yet to be molded?

Thanks guys for the nice words :D

The boots are a very lucky find, they are not kenneth cole (almost got a pair on ebay, but lost the auction!) but a pair of boots a friend of mine and fellow rpf member, Dark-Side, gave me: he was using them for his jango v.1 until he upgraded to real kennteh cole. I had to carve the sole to make the dents, and painted the sole and th leather parts, but i still got to find a way to paint the black syntethic fabric white.

I'm using only sintra for this project, first i draw a template on paper then i pass it to sintra and shape it with an hotgun. Then a lot of bondo and sanding and you can get any shape you want more or less. Some pieces are made of fiberglass (toe armor and left shoulder bell) and i'm making every piece weareable without any molding process.

I took some other pic today:

The front plate is locked on my leg with the straps and then velcroed to the back piece, so far it never fell off:

great job on the boots. This part of the galactic marine always seems the hardest to pull off but it looks like you have it right there.
Great job on everything else too by the way :thumbsup

I'm very happy on how the boots are turning out! :cool

I forgot to say, i'm not being very accurate on the sanding job, since it would take me centuries and the costume is going to be heavy weathered anyway; so as long as the shape is allright, i close an eye on small holes or scratches :)

Wow great work!!!! :eek
I really like the Galactic marines, and hope to get a full costume someday. Keep up the great work!!

Aloha:thumbsup

Ohhhoooooo
That is so sweet!
Do you plan to do a run of these..... MOST INTERESTED!!!!!

I see there is a lot of interest :cool

I've only made castings of small props (a 300 spartan brooch and the tip of the spear), anyway i would like to cast my GM as soon as i finish it, but i guess it will take sometime. I'll keep you updated :)

I'd definitely be curious how much something like this might cost. Some guys from our Garrison did a few one-offs recently for a parade, I think they look awesome when grouped together.

it seems i have to work hard to make it available for everyone here! :)

josheee do you have pics of that parade?
