Full Scale Photon Torpedo

Hi everyone, I'm interested in building a full scale photon torpedo. Does anyone know if plans or blueprints are available? Thanks, Greg

Hey Greg,

I have a real 3 foot Photon Torpedo from a Voyager promo...(Just bragging)
Other than that I also have considered reproducing a few Torpedo's.
I have found little to nothing on there Production.
Might I suggest before you warm up the Vacum-forming machine & start carving yourself a buck.
Look into Roof Mounted Luggage Carriers, Not the short fat ones but the long ones.
They even open on the side with a key so you could work up some kind of Torpedo inside workings if you wanted or even do a Spocks burial Torpedo.
They are made of plastic so modifing there shape could be done with bondo, paint and Decals.
It's just a cheap route.

Greg,

Did you ever come up with anything? I was thinking the other day how cool it would be to have one. A a coffee table, have it mounted up on a wall or hanging from the ceiling.

You would likely have to make one from Plywood or an MDF skeleton then skin it with resin or fibreglass to get the smooth shiny finish before painting.

I have, and still contemplate….using a custom made Photon Torpedo Mark VI type shell case for a Casket/Coffin after my Life Signs have ceased. The thought came to me while watching Spock’s funeral scene.

Taken from the Star Trek Mr. Scott’s Guide to the Enterprise book are the 1:1 dimensions

The idea would work for me, but it’s predicated on whether Federal and State laws governing the Funeral industry will allow it. State laws for internment differ from state to state, as do Funeral industry policies and regulations.

I like the simple design and low profile shape. No doubt, internal and external materials and materials strength will have to be considered.

Below are couple of previous bygone designs inspired by the Photon Torpedo concept. However, I prefer the exact shape of the Mark VI Movie version.

The no longer Las Vegas Hilton Star Trek Experience (where I got married), use to have on display, this Mark IV (presumably a Constitution Class starship) Photon Torpedo full scale prop…

There has been other Star Trek themed caskets……but the Photon Torpedo is just so cool to me.

Finally, other samples of Photon Torpedo exterior graphics for casket/coffin consideration…on the WWW….

Here’s one that was auction off some time ago…..starting bid about $250…don’t know the winning bid.

But yeah…..I could see this with a glass tabletop using whatever means to balance the glass on the torpedo curvatures….or hanging off the wall or hanging from a ceiling, sure why not give it a go to make one for yourself and post pics ;)

Something so disturbingly morbid about the “Photon Torpedo Coffin” that was actually sold for a time…

“I want you to stand over my Photon Torpedo Coffin (tm) and declare that my soul was the ‘most….hu-man’ to everyone in attendance. And please, have someone play ‘Amazing Grace” on the bag pipes for me followed by shooting me out of a cannon…”

Yeah …. I could see my future now….I could live with that ;)

What could be…..
