First try at Harry potter style wand.

What with the new movie coming out in a few weeks, I wanted to make my wife and kids something cool. Here is my first try.
Only took about 30 minutes, I will take a bit longer next time.

Nice work it looks like you used hot glue for the gold lines?

Paper and hot glue and paint, works kinda nice.

I did one of these a while back. What you could also do is get some wood dowel from craft store. I think I used like 1/2" diameter. Then get a sharp knife and cut off bits to get a gentle taper along the length of the wood. This gives a cool surface that I always imagined a wand would be like.

Then I used hot glue and bondo for the details and used spraypaint + gold rub 'n buff.
