Hi everyone,

I'm a newb to the board. Just wanted to share a few pictures of my first costume: Firestorm, The Nuclear Man. Hope you like.

Wow, that looks great . You look like you walked right out of the old 'Spiderman and Friends' cartoon . Awesome job.

Was this a favorite character of yours, or did you just think it would be a challenging costume?

(BTW, props for wearing tights like that, I could NEVER do a costume that revealing....)

Thanks. Firestorm was one of my favorite characters as a kid- I always loved the design and the idea of his head being on fire. I knew this was going to be a challenging costume- but I had no idea what I was getting myself in for- especially for my first costume.
 
The flames are a Rubie's Johnny Storm Human Torch wig cut and sewn to be tighter around the head. Here's the official Rubie's pic (happy kid):

Hey, cool costume... since you were at a Mardi Gras parade, I'm assuming you're in Louisiana too?

Thanks Zev. I'm in Florida- the parade was in Panama City. Mardi Gras is pretty big in the Panhandle- New Orleans in only about 3-4 hours away.
 
Aaah, ok, gotcha. Yeah, I've driven to Pensacola in about 3 hours before. It's almost local. :D
