It's really fun to see the costume progress over the years - and I'm nowhere near an expert on Vaders, but it looks great to me.

The undersuit and cape were sewn by me, much to the surprise of my teenage daughter. I took apart a shirt and a pair of pants that both had striping on them, cut the padding and vinyl (I can't afford leather...yet) to fit, sewed the quilted stripes from the cloth side, and sewed it all back together.

I have found a fake leather fabric that looks pretty good and should breathe a lot more than the current vinyl. I will make that as a "summer" undersuit.

I started the costume because my son wanted to be Yoda for Halloween and I figured the scale would not be too far off. It's grown to consume a lot of my time and energy, as well as a fair chunk of my wife's patience.

Way Cool. :thumbsup :thumbsup

I would like to know more about your system to hold the cape down :)

I have sewn two large buttons between the lining and the cape itself right where the shoulder bells meet the main armor. I then sewed two more large buttons to the hidden buttons with elastic thread, these are outside the lining and slip between the bells and the armor. I then took two loops of the elastic thread and put one end between the strands of elastic holding the buttons together and the other ends meet in the middle with a lobster claw. This goes under the main shoulder armor. I've had no problems with the cape falling back since this addition.

I hope this explanation helps as I have not yet drawn any illustrations of it.

Thanks for the kind welcome everyone and I hope to have more pics up after this weekend.
