Re: Paintings and maps......What's Iconic???

My friend is working at ILM right now in the room near the VIGO painting. I'm trying to plan a trip up there, see if I can grab a couple of photos.

Re: Paintings and maps......What's Iconic???

I just had an idea--a brownish world map with red stripes leading everywhere they show in the Indiana Jones movies.

Re: Paintings and maps......What's Iconic???

Perhaps this may belong to a different focus of interest, but the map in the opening credits of Bonanza is iconic.

Also from the western realm would be the map from the beginning of McKenna's Gold, a Gregory Peck/Omar Sharif movie from the late sixties.

How about the two maps from POTA. Firstly the one that Cornelius pulls out in the original movie (or was that Beneath), and then the one on the wall of Zauis's office in the television series.

Getting a fairly big list there folks, WELL DONE. I am sure there are more out there that we have forgotten lol DudeManGuy.....Mmm....It would be cool to have some pics or rae shots of the above items in this thread. ANYONE with 100% accurate pics or good screencaps feel free to post. I am changing the thread title:) I will keep updating the first post as long as there is a need:)

Re: Film Paintiings and Maps. Resource.......

My Two favorites are the Portrait of Captain James Hook (Hook) and the
Sauron & Isildur final battle painting (LOTR) is pretty cool too!

Re: Film Paintiings and Maps. Resource.......

Oh my god, am I the only one who is considering this one? I mean, come on, this is just as much an important piece as anything else listed: The Portrait of Carlotta from Alfred Hitchcock's "Vertigo."

speaking of which, does anybody have any ideas where to start looking for a screen used original or a replica of this painting. I'm putting together a museum exhibit on this...
