It remains me to find the phone base.
I'm not sure for the moment.

To be continued. :)

Replicas of the viscount seem to be fairly common - but the one the handset comes from is a bit more elusive.

I've found them listed on one site but they're out of stock... edit: restricting the search to the UK shows a few more but £84.99 seems a bit pricey...

Thanks Chris!

Jon, I'm ok they are difficult to find but I've found each before start the thread.

Without finding the right base, not obvious to see in the film, I think I'll limit myself to replicate the handset.
Maybe a resin replica after, why not? :)

I'm waiting for receiving my order to begin the replica.
I can't wait! :)

I received the phone this morning. :)

I don't know if it's really screen accurate but for the price I'll try.

I'll varnish the handle and add the antenna.
I also have to make a display stand specially for it.

To be continued when I'll receive the antenna. :)

I don't know if it will help, but I took some HD screencaps for you.

In the last picture you can see that the ends of the blue handle are rounded, and a tiny bit of the original black handle is peeking out underneath. It looks like they slid something over it or possibly sculpted the blue part around the original handle.

Thanks for comments!

Spike, well seen! :thumbsup
I did not your last pic, I had not seen this important detail.

Indeed it seems they have slipped something over the handle.

Thanks guys! :)

Just a little update to show you the start of painting:

Wait a minute...are you saying you achieved the polished brass appearance in this photo:
...with paint??? Or have I misunderstood, and the brownish/gold stuff in the second and third photos is something that removed the faux antiqued brass exposing the bare metal of the two end pieces? If you could clarify it a bit, I'd appreciate it.

Brilliant work on your phone so far. Have you had any luck identifying the base?

It's only on-screen for one shot, and its out of focus and in the background. Even on the blu-ray you can't see anything, other than it being blue and that it has two small silver things on the base, possibly buttons.

Unless someone turns up with pictures of the original prop, from an auction or otherwise...
