Fiberglass safety?

NOOOOO...You used the word "used" that means you already did it, you are already dead..too late for you now!

It is made for sanding fiberglass so I would think it would be just fine. :confused

Of course I smoked for 18 years so I just use my own lung coating of tar to keep me safe.:thumbsup

Even though it can seem a bit overboard, I would wear a pair of those paper coveralls. I worked a lot with fiberglass a few years ago (Still get that really bad taste left in my mouth from polyester resin) and those little glass fibers get EVERYWHERE, and you can literly itch for days.. :)

you should be fine, most respirators are fine for most types of dust...dust particles are "big" in regards to respirators, and you usually only need specialty cartridges for chemical vapors.

and using gloves and either those full body tyvex suits or long sleaves or if you are really ghetto like i am, covering your arms with baby powder helps keep the itchy glass powder out of your pours.....another trick i've learned is to rinse in cold water, and if it still itches cover your skin with some after shave, it helps draw the dust out, then rinse with cold water.

and all of that stuff is if you are cutting and sanding fiberglass on a regular basis, if you just do it once in a while you should be fine with a fan blowing the dust away from you or a dust mask
