Still needs a base, but here's my effort to reproduce the stand for the Farnsworth from Warehouse 13.

Great work! :thumbsup

How is the stand attached to the base? Can we see a picture of the backside?

Thanks! The stand goes up into a block affixed to the back, cut with the appropriate angle.

I totally love the stand!! Nice work.....I too want to make a stand for mine, when I eventually finish my farnsworth.

Now with a base!

I had a request to detail how this was built, so here are a few notes.

It's really quite a simple knock-together. The main part is two bits of wood, one for the strip across the top (walnut), one larger one for the back-plane (masonite), with a piece of cork mat glued to the front surface (I used an old discarded place-mat for this). Around the corners of the main piece are brass corners from the hardware store, and three additional decorative screws in each side (and three along the top, which don't show in these pics). The shelf along the bottom is a strip of metal screwed to the bottom edge. I aged all the brass, other metal, and screws chemically, and smoothed/distressed all the exposed edges of the wood.

For the base, rather than hunt down the elusive metal base, I turned one out of wood. The post is also turned out of wood, and fits into a small block of wood affixed to the center of the back.

All the rest is wire, washers, screws, and a little doo-dah for the right-hand side. The jewel in the center of the top is from a piece of dollar-store costume jewelery.

Here's a pic with the cloth-covered wire attached to the doo-dah.
