Fallout 3 Outcast armor( My First Build)

For Halloween this year I tried my hand at pepakura for the first time with a very limited budget. I ended up only spending 90 dollars U.S. I rushed it quite a bit and finished it (if you want to call it that) Halloween morning. I didnt use that much bondo for smothing and really wish I did, but time did not allow that so yes, it does look rough. I made my gattling laser and electron charge pack for free out of craft foam board that people use for display backboards. I try to use as much freebies as I can which really cut down on cost. Here is a pic that my girlfriend took outside of the place where the costume contest I went to was held. I got 5th place to 4 store bought costumes. Blah. Here are some pics.

This is how it sits in my dining room as of right now next to my first costume I mad from cardboard for last years Halloween. It is autobot Ratchet and I only spent 10 dollars on it. I got most of the materials for free from work. I work at a convention center and people leave behind lots of goodies. The 10 dollars was for white duct tape and some red paint, I had the rest. The headlights work and the ambulance lights on the back flash red and blue.

Let me know what ya'll think!

Very nice work, especially for that price. Where did you get the pep files from?

Very cool for a first try. I actually have the files for the model, the t51b, and an early file for the outcast armor but no time to try and make them yet. 90.00 isn't bad all said.

I got all of the files from a forum that I am on called Wastelandoutpost.com. If you love fallout like I do, that's where you should go. The 90 dollar price tag was pretty much just spray paint, fiber glass cloth and resin. I found pretty much everything else that I needed either in the trash, my work or stuff I already had lying around. Go to the outpost to see my new build from New Vegas. Enclave Remnant Armor. Oh, here is my scratch built pipboy 3000 that I finished the night of halloween. Build cost=FREE. I know the screen is jacked, but I rushed this build.

Fantastic! more fallout costumes!

i'm presently building an NCR ranger from new vegas, here
it's great to see such a good job on this.
the only thing i would encourage is to buy a black zentai suit with a hood to wear under the armor, so you can hide the flesh on your neck.

do you have any close ups and detail shots? i'd love to see more of this armor.
:)

Thanks ya'll, I really appreciate it. It sure was fun to build. I also made a laser pistol, for free of course.

@ Kommissar- I am a fellow member on the WastelandOutpost. I'm LIBERTYprime.
I do plan on taking more pics of the suit, I just haven't got around to it. Your NCR ranger helmet build is coming along nicely. I like how you built it from pep first then cut it up and made it out of plastic. Awesome job man!

That looks great! The only suggestion I would have it get a hood or something that looks like a recon helmet so you couldn't see your skin when you tipped your head.

Yeah, I do need to get a balaclava. I finished my suit on halloween and there isnt anywhere besides online to get one where I live. I am getting one from jegs.com for my new build. I should have at least wore a turtle neck! :lol

Thanks everyone! I have officially started my new build and this time around, alot more bondo work will be done to smooth it out. I will start a new thread once I finish putting some bondo on my new helmet.
@sjorsjo91= Thanks for noticing Ratchet. My girlfriend wanted me to get rid of him for more space, but I got rid of the table instead! Hahaha.

you know this is got to be the coolest thing iv ever seen. like ever. iv seen people spend ober a hundred dollars just on the helmit alone, thats not including everything els, and to think you made an entire suite for under 90 dollars, simply spectacular. amazing work.

Over all looks good dude! Paint looks pretty good aswell :thumbsup

I've been working on my BOS pep helmet for a few months now in my spare time really trying to smooth it out and just about done. Mine was much more blocky-er to start with though... Like really bad. :lol
