Fading leather?

Heya,

Can anyone offer some advice on how to safely fade leather, without knackering the material itself?

I bought some gloves which looked a pale tan (a bit like Indy's gloves), but turned out to be BRIGHT YELLOW in person :eek

Cheers,
Woody.

Alcohol might kill the color...

My best advice would be to dye them with something very light that cancels out the color. For instance if they were bright green you could dye them with a really watered down red and it would come out as a brown. Leather can't really safely be made lighter.
