ever had a crazed iguanna come flying in your workshop and just attack your clay sculpture till its a big pile of shredded clay? well that did not happen to me, but my crazy cat attacked it and now its ruined :) . now i have to start over. does anyone have any project "horror" stories they would like to share?
 
lol i hope you dont injure yourself too badly. i think my cat has a catnip stash and thats why she attacked the clay, cause she was high on catnip.
 
Maybe you should've paid more attention to your cat than to your sculpt........I think the cat just got jealous :)

First paly with the cat, then play with the Yautja... hihi

My only "horror" story (till now) is about my bodycast/taped dummy. I finished it and was massacred by my wife as she retrievaled me from the dummy (she cuts my arm off, no... not really she only did little cuts in my arm). After that, I filled my dummy with expanding foam. First all was ok... but... then, (I think it was a li'l to much of foam) it expands out from a hole. At last my dummy had a back as an Alien. Looked cool, a shame that i took no picture!

yea maybe but then again she still does stuff like that even if i pay attention to her. i think there is something wrong with her head lol. Uhlakk that sounds terrible :) do you know why she did that?

My wife? Oh, because she isn't so handy with handicrafts, and the tape was really tight! Bad luck! :cry:
 
My cat caused me a lot of trouble too. I finally figured out how to make pewter dredrings. I had a selection of molds ready to fill with molten pewter. Whilst it melts, I go to fetch my molds, only to find my cat had p*ssed on them. When I cast pewter, I use plaster of paris to make the molds, very cheap and easy to make. Why is that a bad thing? Cat pee is very acidic and it was dissolving my molds! And I'd mashed my clay prototypes back into a ball...

I'm still trying to remake them, but since I'm now in college time for that is hard to come by.

And now you know why I hate cat pee...
 
uhlakk and i have the same story.
except my girlfriend was cutting my arm out of the sleeve of the dummy. she grabbed up a piece of flesh in the shears and before i could stop here. SCHINK!

gaping wound on my forearm. my friend who is a nurse said i need to go get stitches. but i just super glue it shut everyday. i thought of taking pictures. but i got distracted with costume.
yay predator scar!!!
 
Aquis Hydro that sounds terrible i hope you do find time to remake the molds. Master Hobbs that really sucks sounds about like my incedent. and Chris The Fury whats with girlfriends and accidentally hurting us? lol J/k i know they dont mean it most of the time. also how big is the scar and how long ago did it happen cause i am facinated by scars. i think that scars define us.
 
I neer had any problems with my cat. Although for some reason she likes to walk through latex. Wasnt pretty when I was working on Lady Darkness.

I will say that having a mold lock lock up is the worst.
 
BigGunns maybe you cat just liked the way the latex felt on her feet lol. cats are odd ones you think you got them figured out and then they surprise you with a dead mouse or something.
 
my dremmel busted, so I was trimming some fiberglass armor with a utility knife....

(remember always cut away from the body not towards it)

hand slipped....... sliced my finger from the knuckle to the tip....30 stitches

you know the human skeleton is very interesting...

a few other horror stories but that is the one that still.."stings"
 
kithunter wow that had to hurt i had that happen a couple of times, but i was just doing random things i was never making a costume when it happened. Chris The Fury that must have been a deep cut to take a week to heal. i think the worst thing that has ever happened injury wise would be when i broke my ankle on a fourwheeler my whole foot was backwards and i was the one who had to turn it back around. talk about pain it hurt so bad i threw up.
 
lol sounds alot like my cat. my cats name is squeeker whats yours BigGunns? if anyone was wondering where i got the iguanna thing from its cause i have a crazy iguanna that i believe is plotting my death.
 
Wounds and scars... aren't they the ingredients of a life of a yautja.

You all can be proud of it.

Thats our purpose... hehehe

Build a yautja, live as a yautja....
