Error's makeup thread

Error,

Awesome make-ups. I've played around with makeup effects for awhile but just really started focusing on trying to make things look really good and professional. I am curious what did you use to make the raised edges for the cuts in your most recent posting. Also are the sclera contacts much harder to put in than regular contacts? The last make up I did I used the regular smaller contacts and it took me forever to put them in and take them out. I have a couple of other makeups I'd like to use the larger contacts for, but I'm afraid I'd never get them in and out. Once again your stuff is beautifully done.

Hey ..first of all thanks ! and to make these cuts ..first i took an eye liner pencil and just drew a stripe mark of where i wanted my scar placement ... poured a bit of body liquid latex into a small bowl and dabbed it over all of the lines .... again and again went back creating layers , you can even add 1 ply toilet paper but for this i kept adding layers , then once dried ... (the part that really freaks people out) took a small scissor and carefully cut straight down the center of each latex application ... once the slit is cut you can manipulate the fake wounds with your hands tugging on the latex, sticking bits of the outer edges to itself then powdering under the pocketed area with for a cut a black eyeshadow ... once a powder is down the latex will not stick to that portion of the flesh ... be sure to practice on something like a shaved area of your leg or arm first and remember to apply lotion before latex otherwise it will really never want to leave your body! ... as for these contacts .... they really are something .... my advice is get many contacts ...colored ...circle eye lenses stuff like that and practice putting them in ..removing them .... it does not take that much pressure on your eye to swipe them over and remove them ....scleras are immensely uncomfortable !!! they rip pretty easy so you need to be gentle ... and they are real hard to get into the eye also to remove.... wearing them is weird as well .. too look around you need to turn your head from side to side .. if you look left or right with your head centered your pupil will end up in the black of the contact and you will be blind rofl .. i would not advise driving in these they are GREAT for photography

Just when I think you can't creep us out any more, you out-do yourself! Amazing work, the shadows and lighting really sell the idea that those cuts are deep!

I read the post; I was making a lame joke :$

Don't underestimate your talent. Everything we've seen you do here is professional quality.

You'd probably have a bunch of fun if you worked with an indy producer (is Troma still around? They're pretty much local!), and work up from there.

I'm not sure how I missed this thread, but I'm always impressed by your talent with makeup and costumes, Error!

I love your obsession for the beauty within gore!:cool:thumbsup

Error do you have any experience with alcohol based make up?

no i usually use whatever but try to stick away makeup with alcohol in it ..simply because a few years back when i worked at a haunted house.... the makeup made my skin awful ....between drying it out and cracking it ...just not worth using

DAMN...how'd I miss 2 of my fav movies...13 ghosts and ginger snaps. Always been a werewolf fan...and 13 ghosts was a great visual in creature design. You did a great job on both....pull of the feral side of Gingersnaps and the sexy, bloody, sad look of the beauty in 13 ghost....VERY WELL DONE!
